Vienna Residence, City Hall - Parliament

The appartment itself was very good, everything was ok apart from the fact that when we opened the windows and the wind blew, a lot of dust came out from under the beds.

Even though the owner says that parking is available, parking in the area is a nightmare. In the end, we managed to park in an underground parking, some 15 min away, for 47 EUROs/day.

A wonderful location near most of the attractions, steps away from the subway and all transportation, clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with all the essentials. It was quiet and well soundproofed.

Not much to dislike, it was wonderful, if only the shower drained quicker, it would have been exceptional, but still did not cause a problem. The stay was great.

The location, just outside the old town, proved excellent for exploring the historic centre and main sights and for public transport connections - and we enjoyed being based in the local area of Josefstadt and next to Neubau, both with local shops and restaurants (for their outside eating areas we especially liiked Glacis Beisl and il Sestante). The apartment is modern, within an older building, well equiped and spacious for two people. We liked using the small balcony overlooking the rear courtyard. Despite being near busy streets, we couldn't hear any traffic noise due to the very effective glazing. There have been some previous comments about airconditioning. The apartment has built-in cooling in both the living room and bedroom which is simple to operate through a wall dial with three settings. When we stayed the external temperatures reached 35degC+ and the system maintained comfortable temperatures in the apartment throughout - though it didn't deliver the icy blasts or cold tempertaures that wall mounted units often do. Despite the good built in equipment and facilities, there is a minimal approach to provision of more consumable supplies such as washing machine tablets - or the instruction leaflets for equipement. These are minor points but could be improved, especially for those, like us, staying more than a couple of days. Check-in was simple and the hosts responsive by message.

The location was wonderful. We could walk into town or easily use public transportation. The old building was beautiful, and the apartment spacious with a comfortable bed, and windows with unobstructed views.

Upon arrival, the lights in the bathroom were insufficient. There was one overhead light in the shower with two other lights burned out. Since there were no windows in the bathroom, the whole area was almost pitch dark. I reported this to management, but it took a week until the service team came by to replace the lights. No lighting above the sink and stove area were also a problem. The light fixtures were broken. There were few dishes like cups, and only two wine glasses when we arrived. A service team member brought us additional glasses after one week. The service member was extremely helpful and very kind. Our compliments to him.
