The Abbots Chambers

Had everything anyone could want or need even including games for everyone to play. Both bedrooms were large double beds which was brilliant. Very close to town and York Minster so was perfect for our stay.

There seemed to be quite a few tiny little moth type bugs when we first arrived but did not cause an issue and would not put us off rebooking in the future.

Location was good. Well stocked kitchen with good living space.Nice bathrooms.

Smallest bedroom had a very dirty valance on the bed, bedding in both rooms had a musty smell. Think the property could do with some light maintenance Key box was difficult to access and was a bit rusty, we had to ask a very lovely lady from the office ( Claire) to come out and unlock the box for us. The key for the front door definitely requires some attention, very stiff and kept sticking in the lock. Handle on the bathroom door is almost falling off. Table lamp in smaller bedroom not working. Burn mark in the shape of an iron on the carpet in main bedroom with a number of stains on the window ledge No iron available Rug in living area has a major crease across it and good be a safety hazard. Blinds broken in one of the windows in living area.

Fantastic location

Amazing location 5 minutes walk away from all amenities. Check in instructions were poor and need updating. Apartment was warm and cosy but grubby and in need of a really good clean. Bedding and linens tired and need replacing, the pillows particularly bad! The freezer and washing machine were unusable unless cleaned first. This was reported to the management company but not interested unless reported the second you arrive.

Check in was quick and easy

The water heater wasn't working. Only the boost tank worked. 2 people of our family of 4 could shower, one had an ice shower and I waited for the boost to warm enough to get warm water for a few minutes before bed.. I texted with property management for over an hour about it and sent tons of pics of tanks etc.. just to be told we must've used all the water.
