About this cottage rental

Just along Woolacombe's Esplanade sits Cliff Cottage in its own private gardens, set back and elevated from the road. Literally steps from the beach, it commands outstanding sea views right across Woolacombe beach to Putsborough, Baggy Point and beyond.

This 1950's chalet-style house was refurbished in 2018 by the current owners and sleeps up to 8 plus a baby in 3 spacious bedrooms and will accommodate 2 families very comfortably.

The large front garden is enclosed with a low wooden fence and gate. There is plenty of car parking for 2/3 cars and the garage offers ample space to store surf boards, body boards, bikes and general beach kit. At the rear of the house are two heated showers to enjoy after a dip in the sea. Beach-life facilities at their very best!

On the main front patio terrace there is a California-style outdoor furniture suite where guests can make the most of the amazing views. On the other front patio area, outside the kitchen diner, are a table and chairs for al fresco meals. To the rear of the property there is a decking area providing a more secluded outside space yet still enjoying stunning views of the sea.

As you step inside the house, to the left of the front door is the kitchen diner and separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The kitchen has white retro-style units offering plenty of storage, and new appliances including dishwasher, American style fridge/freezer and a range cooker with 2 ovens and 5 burners, including a wok burner.

To the right of the stairs, the door leads to 2 lounge areas, separated by large double doors providing a flexible living space. The first room has two anthracite grey fabric sofas and a large 55” wall mounted Smart 4K Ultra HD TV. The Smart TV has internet access so Netflix, BBC iPlayer, YouTube, etc. can be accessed by guests with their own accounts. There are also HDMI ports available for anyone who wants to connect to their own devices e.g. laptop, etc. although a DVD player is not provided. Through double doors is a larger lounge with original stone clad fireplace and patio doors leading to the seated terrace front patio. The property features a DEFRA approved Stovax 5kW energy efficient wood burning stove so you can cosy-up by the fireplace in the cooler evenings. There is a large L-shape corner sofa and additional footstool. Both rooms share the most incredible views over beach and sea…simply stunning!!

At the back of the downstairs area is the newly fitted shower room with double shower, sink basin and WC. Travertine tiles finish a sleek contemporary look.

Next to this is a double room with two single zip n' link beds that can be made into a super-king (Please state your preference when booking).

Upstairs are the additional two bedrooms. The luxurious master bedroom has a super-king size bed and enjoys amazing sea views.

The other bedroom, ideal for children and teenagers, has a sturdy white wooden 3ft bunk bed and a white wooden single bed with an additional pull-out trundle bed underneath that can be conveniently positioned in an L-shape to maximise the floor space.

At the top of the stairs there is also a bathroom with bath, sink basin and WC. The original grey tiles and suite have a 70's feel and add to the charm of this delightful property.

With new flooring throughout, white washed walls and beach influenced art-work, Cliff Cottage looks fresh, clean and modern yet retains the character of the older house that has always stood proudly on The Esplanade.

Cliff Cottage has become a firm favourite seafront holiday home for our customers and regulars alike. It has now been well “lived in” by our guests and the owner's family use it a great deal as well. Since 2018 it has therefore become in need of some TLC and the owners are planning a new kitchen extension and some other improvements, but this won't take place until at least after the 2026 season. In the meantime, this winter of 2025/6 will see a few cosmetic improvements like new sofa covers, blinds and curtains in some rooms and possibly some new bed linen and towels. For this reason, the owners and I have agreed that prices shouldn't increase for 2026 and will remain at 2025 prices for 2026. Cliff Cottage is arguably still in one of the best positions in Woolacombe so it won't disappoint there.

Excellent location, within a few minutes walk to both beach and amenities. Wonderful views (even if currently slightly obstructed by current construction activities to beach cafe. Well equipped but some of the downstairs soft furnishings need updating.

Cliff Cottage is in a brilliant location in Woolacombe with stunning views of the beach, rolling waves, and hills beyond. It was so easy and quick to go out for walks with the dog (who also loved the safe, secure garden). The cottage itself is generally comfortable and welcoming, an easy space for a relaxing holiday. Some aspects could do with a 'refresh' but in the end this did not distract from a good time. The team at Holiday Home Hunter were excellent: prompt and responsive in all communications. Thank you.

Cliff cottage is a wonderful holiday cottage, with fabulous sea views. The house is well equipped and offers ample space for four adults and three children. The outside showers and adjacent utility room are extremely useful when coming in from the beach. There is plenty of outdoor space and space for drying wet suits and boards. After a day on the beach it is so lovely to sit on the terrace of an evening, drink in hand…….just watching the sun go down. The Grandchildren (and the adults) are already looking forward to next years holiday in Cliff Cottage.

Cliff Cottage has one of the best positions and best views in Woolacombe. The whole stay is enhanced by looking out across the wide bay of Woolacombe to Baggy Point, both when sitting inside and when enjoying the extensive outdoor space.

We had a wonderful holiday at Cliff Cottage, the house had glorious views, but set back from the road. The balcony was a lovely place to sit and see the sunsets. The house is very spacious, the beds gloriously comfortable, excellent shower and very well equipped kitchen. Great to have a safe and secure garden for the dog. Overall a lovely stay, thank you ! Will be back

The cottage had so much space for us all. There were beautiful views. There was everything we could possibly need inside, and we loved the extra touches in the kitchen. Would 10 out of 10 recommend this to anyone who asked, what a beautiful place to stay.

We were greeted with a welcome pack of surprises also milk in fridge. The place was bigger than it looked on the pictures with beautiful views over Woolacombe beach. We had plenty of room for three families of various ages, the rooms were spacious with plenty of seating for everyone. The kitchen had plenty of empty space for our food which you don’t always get, plenty of cutlery and mugs etc for all of us. Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, separate utility room. Bedrooms were very airy and spacious with plenty of room for luggage to be unpacked! Porch was useful for the ton of shoes and pushchair to be stored. The owner had thought of everything- candles for the holders, first aid kit, lots of sauces and spices to use if you wanted, decent loo roll (no cheap stuff here!), there was washing up liquid provided, cleaning cloths and drying up cloths - all really useful if you have forgotten your own. The house is close to beaches, shops and eateries and had a large safe garden for toddler to play in (with added bonus of a rabbit who came out evenings and mornings). The terrace was brilliant for breakfast overlooking the beach and lazing around on. Parking was brilliant plenty of room for our three cars plus extra space for two visitors cars. An ideal family holiday home it has everything- so good we’ve booked for next year!!

Very nice house, but really a shame that the upstairs toilet didnt flush. Kitchen was a little bit worn down, pots and pans not really tidy, new baking trays are needed. Besides everything was fine.
