Great area. Lovely and cozy. All tidy and clean. Great value for money.

A cosy little flat that is well-appointed. The living room is generous with a little fake (gas) fireplace and sink-in sofas and the bedroom also quite large. The bed is on the softer side, but was comfortable. The shower is very good - hot and strong, which is a real tonic in the morning. The kitchen has (almost) everything in it you'd need: corkscrew, cheese grater and the usual suspects. A great touch was that there was a big bottle of salt, meaning we didn't have to buy that. Heating was stupendous in how quickly it heated the flat, if needed. The location is excellent: on the East Cliff close to the centre (3 minutes walk). The owner was very friendly in all email and phone conversations.

Three drawbacks, two of which are admittedly my preferences and my fault for not checking. Biggest issue is parking, which is probably true of Whitby in general. There is free street parking, but hard to get, and the pay and display car park down the road is small and usually full (and the costs rack up). Other parking is across the river, which is all not too bad, as Whitby is fairly small, but parking was a continuous topic during our stay. The other two (more personal) issues: the flat is ground floor, meaning you get passers-by and not such a great view and there is no real working desk or table in the flat (we used the kitchen table, which was fine); these two are entirely my fault to a degree as I should have checked more carefully, but also not as bothersome. Provision of loo rolls could have been more generous. All in all it is a great flat and the negatives are slight niggles that are all surmountable.

Stain on bedroom carpet, loose toilet seat, king size duvet cover on a double quilt, poor pillows and only 2 coat hangers. No welcome book/instructions
