Hagstone Cottage Whitby

The cottage was cosy and the location was excellent.

There’s nothing I could think of -maybe a spare box of matches to light the fire?

Location generally really nice.

The staircase are steep and narrow it wasn't a problem for us and we managed, bit of a struggle getting the luggage up. It's probably in the description but if not needs adding. Not suitable for anyone with any physical or health concerns There was a lack of toilet rolls, only 2 for 4 people, no washing up liquid or shower gel ( this was expected by our friends)

Great location.

The cottage is smaller than it appears- we were 2 adults and 2 young children staying, but it wasn’t easy for us to sit in comfortably. No high chair. The cottage wasn’t very clean at all, stains on sofa and cushions, wrappers and rubbish not cleaned up under sofa cushions from previous guests. Stains on carpets. Generally quite dirty, dust, lots of cobwebs, showers need a good scrub, drawers in kitchen dirty, utensils and cups dirty. Outside area not well kept, table and chairs dirty, it’s peak summer season, there should be no reason for it to be like this. Given the price i’d also expect a little welcome tray with tea, coffee etc but there was nothing at all. Upstairs bathroom smelt strongly of urine like the floor hadn’t been mopped.
