About this house rental
The Half Shell is a 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, centrally air conditioned duplex, located in a peaceful neighborhood, and is surrounded by a large lawn great for outside games. This duplex is located within a few minutes of a town boat dock with easy access for small boats, kayaks or canoes. Spend vacation days sunning and swimming at the ocean while watching the dolphins, pelicans, and gulls, or biking the woodland trails listening and watching for deer or ponies, or climbing to the top of the lighthouse. Upon Returning from your days' activities enjoy the outside hot/cold enclosed shower with views of the sky and waving pine trees. The Half Shell has a spacious, light and airy Family Room and Dining area that opens onto a large screened porch that is the perfect place to crack crabs, shell shrimp, or even enjoy oysters on the Half Shell. You can fire up the gas grill for steaks, hamburgers, or seafood. After dinner you and your family can enjoy the "Big Game" or family movie on the 32" flat screen, DISH network TV, or connect to the wireless internet.
The Half Shell sleeps 6-8 guests, and the kids will love the first floor bedroom with 2 twin bunks. There is also a half bath, and a well equipped kitchen with pans, dishes, utensils, microwave, coffee maker, blender and much more. On the second floor you can soak in the tub and enjoy the 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with a double bed, and both bedrooms have overhead fans and open views. A new washing machine and dryer is also provided for your convenience. This home has a NO SMOKING and a NO PETS POLICY. We ask that you leave the home in a neat and tidy condition. Please bring your own linens (2 Queen, 1 Double, 2 Twin), towels and washcloths. We invite your family to spend your Chincoteague Island vacation at the cheerful, comfortable, and relaxing Half Shell.

The place was fantastic for our annual getaway. Our two teenagers enjoyed it all if that tells you anything. Great location that gave access to the entire island through multiple routes.
Overall, a great escape with an awesome outdoor shower and porch.
We enjoyed it and will look to book this location again.

We so enjoy staying at this property!! Quiet but close enough to town. Spent most of our time in the screened in porch. The property owners always quick to answer questions!!

This duplex was much better than we anticipated. Very tastefully decorated, well equipped, full of amenities. Loved the seclusion while still being very close to the heart of things. The back porch alone is worth the rent!

The House is lovely, airy and perfect for being together (and alone if needed). My favorites are the screened in porch and the outdoor shower. My son’s favorite the location close to action but also removed and the large living room for playing FIFA. The surroundings are serene and early morning walks are wonderful. It is very quiet, no traffic. The decorations and furniture are really inviting. I could not wish for a better place to spend vacation days in Chincoteague. The WIFI also works, which was important, as I had to do some work, and my son played games. It can be a little spotty with several people connected at the same time, but this is absolutely minor. I would love to return and highly recommend the Half Shell.
