Villa 10 people, private pool 7 KM from Sarlat

Our first impressions of the property were positive, although compared to the views online we would have to say it did look a bit "tired" and we were disappointed to find the lovely chairs and cushions shown on the patio were not there. The facilities were good and generally it was well equipped. The main issue was with the bedding. In particular the pillows were sparse in number and in desperate need of replacement. There was plenty of space and it was a really good villa for a family holiday. When we arrived however the extreme heat had caused a problem with algae forming in the pool so it was green and unusable. Madame Marlene was aware and the pool people had told here it would be Ok in 48 hours. This was not the case but as soon as we told her that the problem was not going away she was great chasing them every day, but even so it did take 6 days before we could use it. We believe this was more down to the pool people's shortcomings rather than the effort of Madame in chasing them! Later on after a power outage we had problems with the fridge freezer. At first we thought it was just struggling to get back to temperature but once we realised it was not working and told Madame she was amazing and it was replaced within the day! Overall we did enjoy our stay and did really like the property. It was unfortunate that the pool was an issue and later the fridge but Madame was absolutely great in trying so hard to get everything sorted even giving us a part refund.
