Bed & Breakfast - Shanakeever Farm

Very easy to find. Good clear instructions. Room was a great size, as was the bed.

Great breakfast and we particularly enjoyed chatting with our hosts Tim & Heather.

A little more information in our room would have been helpful as there was no one to greet us on arrival.

Being close to Clifden but away from the noise. Relaxing with sheep grazing outside the window. Friendly host with comical sheep dogs. Had my car and suitcase rounded up by them. Nice 'loop' drive locally.

Bit of a hiccup with breakfast as staff training. I'm sure that is not usually the case.

The breakfast was very good. Donna was very friendly and accommodating. The owner, Michael was also friendly.

The room I booked was advertised as a King room, with garden view and private bathroom. We had a double bed in a very small room, the window looked out over the gravel driveway with a pasture beyond that. (see photo for our garden view) We had to cross the hall to the bathroom. It had been raining in the area and they get their water for the house from a lake. When I turned on the water to take a shower it looked like mud coming from the faucet. Donna said it looked bad, but it was good for your skin and hair. The bathroom vent was dirty and the house looked like it needed a good cleaning. Towels were hard and rough. I had read the reviews for this property on booking previously and there were quite good. I'm not sure I trust most reviews anymore.
