Dovecote

The property was decorated to a very high standard ,very clean and immaculate. The cottage felt very homely and lovely views from the garden.

Unfortunately ,there were quite a few steps to the property and parking was a problem. The lounge is on the top level and bedrooms on ground floor. However, this would not put me off if booking this cottage again.

Very nice cottage in a central location to Pickering. Rooms were a decent size, clean and very comfortable. It was nice to have a private courtyard garden which had views across to the steam railway

The electric tripped out on our second day, most likely due to the circuit being overloaded. Rang the owner who came straight round and opened up the cupboard where the fusebox is. Overnight on the second night, the boiler failed due to losing pressure. Probably a system leak, which will need investigating. We informed the owner. There is a cutlery drawer at the top of the dishwasher, above the top crockery drawer, so no need for the separate cutlery holder. There are no hooks on the back of the bedroom or bathroom doors to hang dressing gowns and there is no wardrobe in the second bedroom, only a chest of drawers. It would have been useful to have had a washing up brush or sponge in the kitchen and perhaps a washing up bowl. The pathway down Brant Hill to the property is steep, so possibly not suitable for older guests. It makes taking your belongings, suitcase etc out of your car, down to the cottage quite difficult. It is also uneven and very dark, as there is no street lighting. The standard of equipment, furniture and bedding otherwise was really good
