Squirrel Cottage

The location in Thornton le Dale was perfect, lots of shops and pubs very close by. Squirrel Cottage was a lovely place to stay, very comfortable and full of charm and character.

Even though we collected the keys from a lock box, when we entered the property, we were warmly greeted by the table lamps that had kindly been left on by the owners in the living room and both bedrooms which made us feel right at home from the start. In addition, there were some delicious shortbread biscuits left upon the table and they had thoughtfully left a carton of milk in the fridge for our arrival. Squirrel Cottage is located in such an ideal position to explore all that is on offer within the beautiful village of Thornton le Dale and we found everyone to be so friendly, especially the owners who couldn't have been more helpful with directions and ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible. We found the cottage to be outstanding, from the comfort of the beds, to the fully equipped kitchen and all other facilities that we didn't want to leave and even decided to extended our stay.

The only thing we didn't like was actually having to leave to return home!

Lovely old world cottage. Comfortable and clean.

Unfortunately no parking but plenty on road parking nearby. liked all other aspects of the cottage and location.

Steep staircase. Poor quality cooking pots, pans & and utensils. Too much clutter in cupboards leaving Limited space to store food. Dated & tired furnishings. I'll fitting curtains. Door to kitchen I was items in the fridge, when my wife opened the kitchen door, as the door opens into the kitchen against the worktop, I therefore was behind the kitchen door and got trapped behind it, would it be better opening into the hall against the living room wall!
