The Loft

The accommodation was very good,very clean and the location was also good.

The stairs.,

We loved the area, the lay out was great and we had a door in the living room we could open to let the breeze in which was an added bonus in the heat! The ease of accessing the building (we got a code a week before we were staying). We were provided with a parking permit to the closest car park which was less than 2 minutes away. Facilities were good. Storage was great, the space was utilised very well. We had a lovely stay, we even got biscuits on arrival which was a nice touch. Dog friendly was a bonus too, as long as they like stairs! The kitchen ware was good quality (Pyrex pans, Kettle, toaster, microwave and cups) They had plenty of sharp knives (we usually have to bring our own to prepare food, but this was great to not need them.)

That said, we did have a few issues with the place unfortunately, after booking we received a message about a £150 fee that would be held on the card until we had left, to account for any damages, we didn't know this prior to booking as it wasn't in the description, so a bit of an unwelcome surprise and added anxiety. There were places on the carpet where I could see the vaccuum had clearly missed (bed and sofa hadn't been moved, and there was a clear line of filth on the floor which could have been sorted by moving furniture or using a small nozzle here). The hand soap was less than half full and watered down a lot. Unfortunately, we found the bed sheet wasn't exactly clean. There was some kind of hard stuff on the bottom sheet, near the middle of the bed. The sheet had been put on inside out (perhaps deliberately, knowing this was there?). And the only other thing to mention really is the bathing or washing situation. Not good, not good at all to be honest. I'm about 5 ft 6, and bathing was a struggle in that bath, its so tiny, you pretty much can't lay down comfortably. And I'm not tall. So the other option is a shower, however, due to it being a loft conversion, the sloped ceilings mean a wall bracket to hold the shower head hasn't been put it as it wouldn't fit. If you're taller than me, you'd really not be having a good time. I had to crouch and hold the shower head with one hand, again, not a tall person. That was a bit of a let down. Perhaps a bit of redesigning and updating needs doing to keep this place up to expectations. We really did have a good stay, but there are some improvements in these areas and attention to detail that wouldn't go amiss.

Close to all the amenities, perfect place for Whitby, was clean and warm, had everything we needed. Would stay again

Nothing really, not perfect for a 6.2 ft person, especially in the bath, but not a deal breaker

Lovely little cosy apartment with everything there you needed me my partner and our little dog stayed for 5 nights and absolutely loved it ,will def be coming back
