The accommodation was poor , the campsite was great

The mobile home was very basic & was old & tired, Air con was €5 per day, expected that to be included as standard, No oven or microwave, just a hob, staff were less than helpful, take it or leave it attitude. would not recommend Happy Camp to anyone. Camping Butterfly campsite on the other hand was an excellent site, compact in a great location in walking distance to the town centre. Best site restaurant we have experienced

Deposit scam spoils a nice location

The site is well located, close to PDG town centre & a small beach area.

Having stayed in similar accommodation across France several times this site was of a lower standard. The caravans are placed too close together & we were right next to the entrance & pool area of a neighbouring site, which meant for a lot of noise. Due to the insects the accommodation needs nets on all windows which it didn’t have. I drink the tap water wherever I go but it was undrinkable here. Even coffee needed bottled water due to the taste. However the biggest issue was getting our security deposit back at the end of our stay. We left a day early due to the weather & cleaned the van. (Beds stripped, every surface wiped, floors swept & mopped, windows, kitchen & bathroom cleaned) The staff from Happy Camping came to check & said some glasses & mugs needed re-washing but that was it. Fine, we did that & they checked again. They complained the glasses & the sink were still a bit wet. We explained this was due to us washing them but dried it all off. On the third check they raised the hob being dirty, which they never had before. At this point it became clear they were just scamming us & a full scale row ensued. I did get my full €100 deposit back eventually when I mentioned a bad review & welcomed their suggestion of security. This left a bad taste in my mouth & as it took over an hour to resolve affected our travel plans for the day. It’s disappointing that Butterfly are aware of this issue (based on multiple similar experiences reviewed here on Booking) but still employ these individuals. I’ve never had an experience like this in France.

Brilliant campsite for families in a fantastic location

The location was brilliant, the campsite is situated across the road from the lake with direct access to the water. It takes about 10 minutes to walk into Peschiera town and about 15/20 minutes to walk to the train station (which is a flat route). The mobile home itself was basic but absolutely fine for what we wanted it for. We didn’t use the hob, microwave etc as we ate out. Beds were comfy and we all slept really well. We paid the extra €5 per day for air conditioning which was worth every penny in the August 35+ degree heat! The pool area was fantastic and perfect for kids. There are lots of sun beds but it did get very busy at times. Fortunately they do not allow people to leave towels on the beds if they’re not using the sun bed and if you can’t find a free sun bed the pool attendant will move towels off a bed that hasn’t been used. Which is a plus! No need to get down early for fear of not having a sun bed! We ate in the onsite cafe Butterfly Bistrot a fair amount, it was tasty and good value and really easy with being able to watch the kids in the pool while we had a drink! The staff at the campsite were really friendly, especially the one who worked in the cafe and on reception.

The only real issue we had was at check out, we opted to clean the mobile home ourselves. I evicted the kids and the husband to the pool and spent over an hour cleaning the place. I brushed up, mopped, cleaned the toilets and bathroom, wiped over all surfaces and in the fridge and also over the mirrors. The Happy Camp staff turned up to inspect just as I was about to drop the key back. As others have said before in their reviews, they nitpicked at any tiny thing to try and keep hold of the €100 deposit. He said the toilet was wet, yes the lid was because I had only just wiped over it 5 minutes before and I didn’t have anything to dry it with (of course it would air dry itself in minutes). He also said I needed to use chemicals, not just water, to clean the bathrooms. I explained I did use chemical products, and pointed out the fresh lemony smell that was coming from the cleaning products I used. He said that the shower screen had not been cleaned, I explained that I used the mop to clean it because I did not have another way to do so and again had left this to air dry, but it was still wet. They pulled several glasses out of the cupboard and said they were wet - they were not wet, we only used two glasses the whole of our stay, which I had washed, there was condensation on all the glassware from where the air conditioning had been turned off. I stood my ground and reluctantly he did return the full €100 deposit but he definitely wasn’t happy about it. Even after giving me the cash back, he was picking faults with the door glass not being cleaned and the mirror having steaks on it. I offered to take out one of my towels and dry all the water off the mirror, toilet seat etc but he just said that it wasn’t very clean and next time we need to leave it cleaner. It left a sour taste in my mouth as up until that point everything had been great! So to anyone booking, just be prepared to clean absolutely every inch and dry any wet surfaces and stand your ground!!

Dissatisfied

Good location is all I can say

Mobile home by happy camp was very old and shabby. No way I was going to sleep there You have to pay extra for air con .We left straight away. Campsite is suppose to be 4 star but the accommodation we got was a two star at best. We paid the full amount upfront for ten days and tried to get a refund but we were told no by happy camp. We had to book a different place. Very bad service..

It was perfect for us.

We got bit a lot by fleas and had to wash the bed linen twice. I think it's because there are a lot of dogs on site. I first thought it was mosquitos but we were there in may so not many mosquitos at that time and we were getting bit everywhere only at night time..went to the doctors and they confirmed it was flea bites. Just a thought to wash sheets and bed stuff before using. We didn't report this at the time as we were unsure

A good value stay, with different approach, could be better though

Great location, a short walk from the center. Nice campsite, friendly staff, nice, small but good pool which was not not so busy, good well priced bar/cafe. Coffee was decent, didn't try the food but looked decent. The static was a little old/basic but as per the photos and good value for money. Reasonably well equipped, and we were positioned at the back of the site so quite quiet.

The Happy Camp (rather than the campsite staff) were not especially welcoming or friendly. More alkward rather than bad though perhaps. The deposit situation is not good. I have no issue with holding 100 euros incase of damage but for cleanliness with an inspection felt unnecessary. In truth, there was no issue and our money was returned But after reading the negative reviews on this point it created a negative untrusting atmosphere from the start. Having to wait until the last minute of our stay was also inconvenient and again unnecessary. If they had added £50 to the price for cleaning and keep a deposit for damages it would have been a far better arrangement. Alternatively if you are expected to clean properly, provide cloths and spray. Also not to provide at least 1 toilet roll is ridiculous. Would return for the price but if the above was done differently would be a far more enjoyable experience.

We loved the location, the main reception Butterfly camp, security guards, the shop is convenient

We didn’t like the staff of the Happy Camp, we were told to clean the mobile home to get our deposit back, we did so. And the other family who where there with us as well. But we were charged 40€ for the cleaning, both families. Because we didn’t polish the mirror and the windows. My advice for everyone enjoy your last moments in Peschiera, you will be charged 40€ anyway. Nevertheless you clean or not. It’s decided at the beginning of your stay. They only want you, to do their job for free.

Good

The pool facility was enjoyed especially by the children and well maintained. The surrounding area had great views and good for a nice stroll. You can reach the train station in minutes on foot.

The place was full of webs and sticky on the inside. Couldn't tell the operator at the time since we arrived late (almost night). The head of the cleaning crew was not approachable and even though we cleaned the whole place (including windows) she still wanted to keep the deposit. This really felt like she was trying to take advantage of us because we were in a hurry.

Very clean, great value for money, fairly central, helpful camping butterfly staff.

Staff were very friendly and helpful until we had to leave. We expected to leave around 10 am, we were about 20 mins late but had done the clean ourselves. I was then told by their rep that it was 9 am leaving and we had been told (we weren’t, and ten is fairly standard leaving time in every camp I’ve ever stayed). Sadly this was poor judgement, didn’t change the situation, but edged an otherwise pretty perfect experience. I would make clear, this was camping selects staff, not those of the park, who were relaxed and helpful.

Disappointing

Location of camping is very good base to visiting Garda area and that's why we booked it. That's all.

No hair drier. No towels in price. There was no basic cleaning utensils. Only one heater on entire house ( bathroom, 3 rooms, and main saloon with kitchen) in November ain't it fun. Fortunately we only slept there. Deposit 100e. No final cleaning included in price. Rude host.

Il personale è senza esperienza,grande difficoltà parlare con loro, visto che siamo in Italia ma loro non sanno parlare italiano, lui scortese e il modo antipatico di rispondere. Abbiamo avuto un problema con l'elettricità la sera e non abbiamo potuto fare niente, perché loro non erano reperibili. Abbiamo dormito una notte senza elettricità. Mi spiace per tutta la struttura del camping butterfly, ma loro di happy camping lo rovinano.

Die Lage. Der Fußballplatz für die Kinder war gut.

Es hat rein geregnet. Wir hatten überall Wasser im Schlafzimmer und Bad und Kinderzimmer. Zusätzlich war die Dusche auch undicht. Als wir darauf aufmerksam machten, passierte nichts. Erst als wir uns an booking gewendet haben kam nach 3 Tagen jemand um mir Handtücher zum auswischen zu geben. Service glatte 6. noch dazu sprechen alle schlecht englisch und somit ist die Verständigung schwierig. Beim abreisen haben ich selbst gereinigt. Pfannen und Töpfe die wir nie in der Hand hatten weil wir immer auswärts gegessen haben waren nach Meinung des Personals schmutzig. Entweder reinigen oder keine Kaution zurück. Sowas unverschämtes haben wir noch nie erlebt. Die Betten waren durch gelegen. Wir hätten gerne den Pool genutzt, allerdings nur mit Badekappe. Das ist sehr veraltet.

Der Supermarkt ist überteuert und nicht gut bestückt, die Kosten der Endreinigung ist unübersichtlich und man wird erst bei Abreise darauf hingewiesen (50€) extra. auch ist der Pool nur mit Badekappen nutzbar.

Schwieriger Anbieter

Die Lage war wirklich gut, Nähe zum See. Die Rezeption des Campingplatzes freundlich.

Das Personal des Anbieters war schwierig zu verstehe. Und auch eher desinteressiert. Ausstattung eher mau und auch sehr abgelebt. Am Vorabend der Abreise bekamen wir Besuch von einem jungen Mann der uns die Endreinigung verkaufen wollte, als wir verneinten, wollte er ein Lupen reines Mobilheim. Abnahme am nächsten Tag aber vollkommen okay. Heizung ging den ganzen Aufenthalt nicht. Der Campingplatz ist okay der Anbieter eher schwierig.

gelungener Urlaub

Die Lage ist super. Man ist sehr schnell an einem kleinen Strand und auch die Fähre oder die Innenstadt von Peschiera erreicht man innerhalb von 15 bis 20 Minuten einfach zu Fuß. Die Mobilehomes sind gut ausgestattet - uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Das Personal war super freundlich und immer hilfsbereit.

Das Lokal auf dem Campingplatz selber ist eher nicht zu empfehlen. Die Pizza ist sehr lecker und das Personal freundlich... aber die Nudelgerichte -vorallem die Lasagne- sollte man lieber nicht bestellen. Die Lasagne war innen noch gefroren. Die Nudelgerichte selber waren etwas lieblos auf den Teller geklatscht und haben auch nicht wirklich geschmeckt. Preis Leistung war hier nicht gerechtfertigt.

camping trés bien placé pour faire de la visite Verone ,Padou ,Venise et le tour du lac

l'emplacement géographique, la grande piscine tres bien qui fait 1.40m partout. malgres notre anglais et italien pas trés perfectionné les personnes travaillant sont trés sympatique et comprehenssible. camping proche du centre de la ville avec les soirs juste en sortant et traversant la route de tres beau couché de soleil

le manque d'equipement dans le bungalow, la qualité des couverts et casseroles. le manque de mitigeur soit vous prennez une douche froide soit brulant impossible de ce retrouver avec une temperature d'eau correct pour la vaisselle ou se laver. la place de parking du bengalow 26 mal positionne car les autres vacanciers bloque votre voiture et vous laisse dans l'impossibilité de partir et sont rédibitoire a bouger leur voiture pour vous laisser partir malgrés les remontées a l'accueil. Ne parle pas du tout le français. les jeux trampoline,toboggan gonflable et chateau gonflable payant. obliger de payer a la reservation sur booking le ménage, refacturée une 2eme fois sur place. arrivé avec une une clim payant 100 euros pour 15 jour et 2 heures d'ennuis en arrivant avec celle si qui fuyait sur les prise electrique. wifi payant avec une mauvaise reception de connexion

Za wysoką cenę dostajesz domek bez pościeli(prześcieradła), ręczników, wifi, klimatyzacji, wszystko jest dodatkowo płatne, i to nie mało. Woda w prysznicu jest albo zimna albo wrząca. Pracownicy nie mówią po angielsku, ciężko się porozumieć. Kosze na śmieci są czynne 2 godz rano i 2 godz wieczorem, więc trzeba sobie zaplanować ich wyrzucenie, co jest niedorzeczne. Na pewno tam nie wrócimy.

Supert sted å være på ferie.

Det var rent og pent, god oppfølging. Det var morsomme aktiviteter på kvelden, gode muligheter for bading både i basseng og i gardasjøen. I tillegg var det rolig på natten. Det var mange fine muligheter for jogging og turer. Kjempefin beliggenhet i forhold til stasjonen og byen.

Litt stor oppdeling av ekstra tjenester; f.eks. aircondition, sengetøy og håndklær. Det var heller ikke dopapir eller vaskebørste/svamp til oppvask. Jeg hadde gjerne betalt litt ekstra for at det var der da vi kom. Det var også litt langt til nærmeste supermarked.

Die Lage ist ok. Die Security am Eingang sind auch echt nett und extrem hundefreundlich. Ausstattung der Mobilhome war ok.

Diese Zusatzkosten wie separat für die Klimaanlage pro Tag zu zahlen. Dann Endreinigung plus nochmal Endreinigung bei Hunden. Die jedoch eh schon pro Tag abgerechnet wurden. Betten eine Katastrophe und insgesamt total hellhörig. Habe gehört wenn der Nachbar sich im Bett gedreht hat. Geht einfach gar nicht. Hatten wir auf anderen Campingplätzen nicht.

Zu teuer. Was eine Frechheit ist das nicht mal Klima dabei ist. Kostete 87 € für eine Woche extra Dann gab es keinen Fernseher Handtücher und Bettwäsche muss extra bezahlt werden Und zu allerbestem WLAN pro Tag 3 € Ich werde hier nie mehr hingehen. Bin 2-3 x im Jahr am Gardasee. Aber so übel war es nie

Bon sejour avec visite de Vérone et des villages proches autour du lac.

La localisation du camping, proche du centre ville, des bus et de la gare pour faire des visites alentours. La restauration accessible.

Mobilhome proche. Fenêtre des toilettes du voisin de derrière grande ouverte, donnant sur notre pièce principale, avec vue et bruitage, donc rideau occultant fermé en permanence. Aboiements de chiens récurrents tôt le matin. Place de parking, qui n'en sont pas, dans l'allée pour les mobihomes du milieu, gênants pour ceux du fond qui veulent sortir.

La gestion des déchets, plages horaires trop courtes et accès difficile. Dans le mobile home pas de papier toilette a l arrivée ni premier sac poubelle. Accessoires de cuisine de faible qualité. Espace entre mobile home très réduite.
