Beach villa Gladiolus

Location was great, in a quiet spot yet a 5 min drive from restaurants and cafes. Also walking distance from a quiet beach. House is comfortable and well equipped. Staff were very helpful.

We were charged an additional €80 for electricity consumption. This was a hidden cost that we were informed about only a few days before going there.

Tina the holiday representative was very helpful, respectful and attentive. She dealt with any issues swiftly, even if the issues could not be solved. We found the villa to be comfortable and it had the basic household items to cook with, although there was a lack of things like tea towels and scissors etc. The design of the villa was excellent and outside dining was great on the terrace. The pool was big and in the sun until about 5pm. The beach was a five minute walk through scrubland, which we didn’t mind, but it would have been helpful if there had been beach chairs and an umbrella to take with us.

The reason we only gave 7/10 was because of the unfortunate garden maintenance that went on each of our nine days, in the neighbouring villas. The jet washer, leaf blower and hedge cutter were persistent, all day long. We approached Tina and she was sympathetic but said that this was down to poor communication between the other villa companies, as obviously it would have been better if they could all communicate to stagger the maintenance. Fortunately we had a car, which I would say is essential, so we went out each day, but if you want a villa and pool holiday, be prepared for disturbance. There is also a building project on the corner, although this was not really noisy. If you are a lucky person who is tolerant of noise, I would definitely recommend the villa.

Klidné místo, krásný dům s vlastním bazénem a naprosté soukromí. Dům je dobře vybavený, nic nám nechybělo. Klidná pláž jen pár minut chůze od domu. Na pláži jen pár lidí, jemné oblázky, vhodná a příjemná pro děti.

Coming here mid September the weather was a steady 30 degrees and the sea was warm and beach v v quiet. It’s a 10 min walk to get down to the beach along quite uneven ground which is worth mentioning. It’s NOT “beachfront”. The aircon in the bedroom worked well at nights. The mosquito screens (day) were appreciated. The pool was a good depth and size. The lady who manages the property was very nice and sensible. We were allowed a late checkout which was greatly appreciated. The outside was attractive and well maintained and had lots of areas to sit in and use shade etc. well thought out.

I would have appreciated clearer written directions. We were delayed and it was pitch black on arrival and really needed directions rather than a pin in a Google map. I did ask for them but did not receive. There’s a large scale building project at the back of the property. The kitchen is very small- photos are wide angle lense. The furnishings and bathrooms etc are very dated. The master bed was small and rather hard. Could do with some new pillows/ better bed linens. Sunloungers were practical but without cushions so rather hard on ageing backs! We didn’t have pets or children but it’s worth noting that the house is v close the road and the left hand gate for the drive is broken so a child etc would have to be watched carefully. Having said this we had a very relaxing week and am just passing on these suggestions/ comments to manage expectations.
