Alma Resort Cam Ranh

We had an amazing stay at Alma. Our kids had the best time swimming in the many pools, playing at the kids club and making and decorating cookies. It was also great for the parents with mini golf, water park, delicious restaurants and the swim up pool bar. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and you can see that the staff take great care with ensuring the guests have a wonderful stay.

There was nothing to not like.

Everything! I loved absolutely everything about this resort, from the facilities, to the rooms and the staff. We had the best time!

Quite small television and lack of apps

The staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke good English. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, nicely landscaped and well kept. Even though it's a big resort with many people, there's enough space that everyone is reasonably well spread out. There are like 12 swimming pools. The gym is clean and quite well equipped. The beach is clean. We enjoyed the pickleball court.

In hindsight this was not the right place for us, especially at this price. The screaming kids are everywhere. I wanted the beachfront access but the beach is just alright, not worth it in the end. The grounds are huge so it's a hike to get there anyway, or a 10-15 min wait for a buggy. Our suite technically had a sea view but it's so far in the distance. Everything is at first world prices which is crazy when a local bowl of noodles is 20k VND. And if the standard of breakfast is a benchmark, the food isn't all that great. (Huge variety at breakfast but most individual items weren't very good.) It was easy to get a cheap Grab out but it was hard to find local food, there was a low density of options and often places listed on Googlemaps were closed. We ordered in once (walked to pick it up outside the grounds bc you're not allowed to have delivery right at the entrance) but on Grabfood the prices were marked up compared to going out (though still not as expensive as inside the resort). The room was comfortable enough but not quite at the standard I'd expect for this price. The tiled floor was sticky. The aircon temperature could be inconsistent. The sheets weren't that nice and the mattresses were sagging in the middle. The same towels are used as bath, beach and pool towels, of varying quality, cleanliness and age. Housekeeping was sloppy, sometimes forgetting to replace things.
