Eileen's House

Majella is a warm thoughtful hostess. Everything was planned beautifully she made everything so easy. The island is so peaceful and Eileen's House so idyllic you can forget what day it is.But if you are looking for a bit of island life the wee pub has it and Tim and Kathleen will make you feel welcome. The boat men who ferry you to and from the island are extremely helpful and patient.

A beautiful, peaceful, traditional spot

Eileen’s House was spotlessly clean and located in a beautiful setting overlooking Bantry Bay. It was furnished with everything you could possibly need to ensure a comfortable stay. The welcome pack was amazing and Majella gave us a warm welcome on arrival.

There wasn’t one thing we didn’t like about Eileen’s House, it is a beautiful little treasure set in a peaceful and relaxing location.

Delighted Majella provided provisions which were all eaten and enjoyed. The house was spotless and provided old world charm, the stairs are steep and there is no bathroom upstairs but that was not a problem for us. Extra blankets and towels were available and generous toiletries in the large bathroom. Loved the views across the bay sitting outside for breakfast.Loved the visiting chicken,ducks,phesants, hares, and the birdsong inthe morning. The ferry to take you on and off the island was well run.

When i arrived at Bantry Marina the toilets were locked the gentleman in charge obnoxious, the garage across the marina had toilets but no key to open them. Fortunately the Maritime hotel was not too far. To leave your car at Bantry Marina is 25 euro a night, my daughter and son travelled on seperate days so for 2 cars that is steep, but safe.
