This is a wonderful homestay where you stay in a local Grandma's house. She only speaks Japanese, but is kind and warm, always willing to have a conversation or answer questions. You can also wash your clothes for ¥500. It is very traditional and you will use a shared bathroom, but if you don't mind, I recommend it 100%. She even drove me to the local subway station after my stay so I didn't have to walk so far.
It is far from many sights, but close to the mountains and the onsens in Kurama, so it is ultimately a choice for you on whether you need to be closer to the main attractions. Thank you very much for your hospitality!
