We arrived earlier than the check-in time, but we had a baby and it started raining. The owner kindly lets us to stay on the first floor while the cleaning lady was cleaning the 2nd floor. The house itself is very cute and clean! We really enjoyed our stay there and I will absolutely come back if I happen to go back to Kyoto to attend the same conference. The bathroom was also very nice!!

Clean, quiet and easy to stay. we will probably use this accommodation next time we will go ther.

not so much to eat round at night

The location was only 15 to 20 minute walk from Gion and just a couple of minutes from a subway stop. The cleaner let us leave bags before and after check out which was very helpful.

Unfortunately there were issues with communication and with the comfort of sleeping arrangements. We’ve never had such uncomfortable futon mats to sleep on. We paid for a place with four mats and we were asked to only use two so that we didn’t get the sheets dirty! But each mattress was 1 inch thick. It was the kind of mattress you would give to a kid for a sleepover or maybe to an in-law if you didn’t like them and didn’t want them to come back again! My husband who weighs 200 pounds and I had a horrible night sleep for three nights and woke up with sore hips, shoulders, and neck and the pillow was also only an inch thick. This is just not acceptable standards for anyone to be sleeping on so of course we use all four futons so we could at least have 2 inches of mattress to sleep on! The fan in the bathroom wouldn’t shut off and ran all night keeping us awake and there were no instructions for the house so I had to ask for wifi info and we never did use the washing machine because there weren’t any instructions There was also no place to unpack except for two pegs on the wall! So we just lived out of our suitcases for three days It just wasn’t acceptable.
