Walking distance to Anakeesta. Mattresses were ok but could be better.

My family and I enjoyed or stay for the most part. I'll start with the positives: The location was awesome! It's a super quick walk to the main strip in Gatlinburg. The Aquarium is like an 8-10 minute walk so you don't have to pay for parking. Everything else is easily walkable as well. It was just a nice and quiet area overall. The entire process of checking in and parking was pretty painless. I did not have to interact with anyone except the front desk and that was only because they forgot to place a parking decal in my room. Getting that was fairly simple though and parking was nice an well lit. The room overall was pretty clean (except a couple things...more later). The kitchen was pretty nice as well. It included pretty much everything we needed and the appliances were modern. WiFi is also very good. Now the negatives. The room is badly in need of some updates.... The beds were baaaaad.....both the bed in the master bedroom and the 2 beds in the additional room. The were all pretty worn down. I don't know if the mattresses were cheap or just simply too old. We tried sleeping in them the first night and could not take the back pain. It was even rough for the kids. I myself had to buy an air mattress. The wife and kids dealt with it but never got a good nights rest. You could literally feel the springs in the mattresses. Next the couch and the chair in the living area were in pretty bad shape. Not only were they very dated, but brown/tan suede is not a good idea. Very visible dirt and stains were seen on the furniture (especially the foot piece.) We had to go to Walmart and purchase furniture covers. Lastly the the TV's were a bit outdated and the main TV in the living area is way too small for the room. On top of that, the feed to the TVs were non-HD and looked horrible. I would assume that a non-hd antenna is being used because it looked really bad. Thanks to the fast Wi-Fi we were able to buy and use a couple of HD Chromecasts to stream video which helped the image, but the TVs were still pretty bad quality wise. The toilets are super low to the ground (old) and the flush power could be better. Before booking the room I read other reviews about the toilets getting backed up, and now, I can see how. If you're not careful, it can easily be done. Also, a couple of the sinks need a bit of Drano. If these things could be fixed then this would have been a super stay. The beds were probably the main issue for me. Its difficult to enjoy Gatlinburg to the fullest when you are slightly tired from battling the beds all night long.
