Modern Town House Shepley

The house is so well equipped and comfortable. Plenty of dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, tea, coffee, even cooking oil and salt & pepper. Plenty of loo roll. We had 5 adults and one child staying on the first night, with family visiting earlier, and the living room comfortably fit us all in. The attic bedroom is comfy with blackout blinds. The house is on a cul-de-sac so nothing passing directly and is nice and quiet. The back garden area is great. There's a washer-drier, and a downstairs loo. The living room is as big as it looks on the pics with plenty of comfortable seating. I really couldn't say more to recommend this place. Tina is warm and friendly and helped us with the coffee machine when we couldn't work it out on the first day. The location is great too; we came for a wedding at Thunder Bridge but it's close to Penistone and the surrounding countryside. If you are in two minds I hope this helps you decide to go, it's great value for money and really is a home away from home.

So the attic room and single room at the front lack hanging space. We got hangers from the other rooms and improvised! Only the attic room has blackout blinds and my niece had to put bin-bags up at the window to block out the morning sun, so bear this in mind if you're light-sensitive. The people in the single rooms weren't bothered. The drains in the ensuite in the attic room are a bit pongy, but with the bathroom window open and door closed you wouldn't notice it. I needed airflow as it's been warm so kept the door and all windows open and it didn't bother me at all for sleeping, it's mainly only noticeable during the day when it gets warm. Also inverting a bin over the shower drain would help. For the price of this property these drawbacks are minor and easily navigated.

Nothing to actually ' not like', but a mirror and waste bin in every bedroom would be nice. Also a hook for hanging clothes in the bedroom without wardrobe and in the bathroom. And a handle to grip when getting out of shower would be good as the washbasin is the only thing to use as support when stepping out of the shower. But these are only suggestions. They aren't something we 'didn't like'.

Four of us enjoyed staying in this comfortable accommodation for the first of three Pennine Way walks using car shuttle. The host Tina is very friendly and approachable.

All Rooms good and clean. Area good and suited purpose.

Operating TV was awful. Difficulty in opening fridge. Instructions for washing machine needed updated. Oven gloves were not clean and needed replaced. Oven not as clean as we would have liked.
