This was our third stay in this beautiful place. The cottage is very comfortable and homely and the surrounding countryside is simply idyllic. The dog loves it even more than we do! So much wildlife - deer, hares, rabbits, peacocks...The shared pool is absolutely lovely (although NB restrictions on times of use). We really love it here and a week is never long enough.

There is nothing not to like. The only thing that makes me hesitate to book a fourth trip is now the cost as it's well over £2k for a week in August next year, and that is beyond our budget. I think fuel prices etc have pushed all prices up, so the fee is not exceptional compared to other places. But still, ouchy! It's a lot to spend on a week in the UK which could be a washout weatherwise. I'm looking at camping gear instead! We will definitely miss our week at Orchard House though.

The location. The room sizes. The wildlife. The living rooms. The furniture and beds. All of the sinks and bath were very good. The house overall was of a great layout. The towels and bedding were very clean.

Only use of pool in the morning when we were generally out. The outside door wouldn't shut and the toilet door upstairs. Microwave was rusty inside. Cooking trays were old. Some cobwebs around lights. Window frames very dirty. Central heating program and thermostat did not keep the house warm. Manual override always had to be used. There were many animal traps along the woodland edges. A picture upstairs depicted a stag being hunted by hounds. There were magazines within the property about game shooting. The rear garden needed some maintenance and cleaning. The upstairs toilet flushed for a long time.
