About this house rental
Greet the sunrise with a cup of coffee or a mimosa and watch dolphins play! This is Hibiscus House! Located in the prestigious TradeWinds neighborhood, Hibiscus House is a two-bedroom, two-bath oceanfront home that can be your home away from home. The main living space is an open concept with high ceilings and double French doors inviting you out onto the covered deck where there is almost always a breeze from the easterly trade winds.
Hibiscus House offers a relaxed setting for those wanting a bit more solitude and amenities than you’ll find on Main Street, and with an affordable pricing structure. One or two couples will find that it is a perfect place to share a vacation, where you can have sun, sea and a private swimming pool all to yourselves.
Outdoor living is part of the island experience, and it excels at Hibiscus House. Divers and snorkelers will be pleased to know that the Mesoamerican barrier reef is right off the shore and it is only about 500 yards to the Airport Caves Dive Site. And it’s only a 20- or so minute walk to three of Utila’s major dive facilities on The Point. You'll find that this end of the island has some of the best snorkeling to be found on Utila. Just outside your front door, and both east and west of you, you'll see dive boats dropping divers and snorkelers off onto sites that you will be literally be able walk and swim to!

This recently constructed home was designed for comfort and privacy. Now being completely refurnished in an upscale yet casual, modern style (with island flair!), you'll find yourself feeling the thoughtful touch of the owner's hand at every turn. Both bedrooms will have California king sized beds, custom built armoires, personal nightstands, and upscale linens. Each of the bathrooms is complemented by a large walk-in shower and includes, of course, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. French doors that open onto a covered deck overlooking the sparkling Caribbean Sea are there to entice you to enjoy your mornings out of doors...
A wonderful advantage to the location of Hibiscus House is that it is close enough to Main Street to be a short 15- to 20-minute walk, yet far enough away to miss the noise and hustle and bustle. This property also provides a U.S. style kitchen that allows you to plan and make meals at home, reducing reliance on restaurant fare should you be a culinary expert, or just like your own "home cook'n" better than someone else's.
"Tuk-tuks” (taxis) are readily available. If needed, we will provide you with a pre-programmed local cell phone so you will be able to call them as required. There is also substantial covered parking should you choose to rent a personal golf cart, quad, or scooter!
Naturally, Hibiscus House provides wireless internet that broadcasts throughout the property so that you can stay in touch with the outside world as need be. After checking in, give yourself time to play any of the board or card games that are provided for your diversion.
Another option we provide our guests is to have their vacation home pre-stocked with beverages/food of their choice. There is no charge for this service; we simply require that your purchases are paid for upon arrival, along with your balance if applicable. Let us know if you would like a Provisioning List and we will be happy to forward one to you. You simply check off your selections

This property is just as advertised, and the support offered by the hosts is second to none. This includes pick up from and delivery to the ferry, not to mention the welcome option to purchase provisions for you in advance of your stay. That was most welcome, but it is also fairly easy to buy groceries there once you have the lay of the land. The house lacks for nothing, (OK, there’s no dishwasher) and the allowance for electricity is generous. We did not need to run AC except at night, given the constant winds that were blowing off the ocean. The winds and wave conditions also precluded swimming right in front of the property, which was a bit of a disappointment, but that is a result of January weather I guess.
We found Utila an interesting change from Roatan, where we also spent a week. Utila is much less busy and has a very relaxed vibe. The taxis are also much cheaper! Utila does not lack for restaurants and bars relatively close by, and we ate out several times as well as making use of the well equipped kitchen. I was content to enjoy the vistas the home offered, and the cooling winds. Our daughter was able to upgrade her diving certification one level at Alton’s Dive Centre, to which she could walk. We tended to walk in to ‘town’ and take taxis back in the evening.
We took the ferry to Utila, which was straightforward, if rather bouncy (see winds mentioned above). And it is true that unlike Roatan, only a few places take credit cards, so take your USD.

Tony meet us at the dock and should us around was excellent
House is great clean and nice balcony facing water
Would be good to have chairs for on beach and the beach leaves something to be desired.
