First things first: purely in terms of the property, I can recommend the Treehouse. The design and furnishings are first class, the location is outstanding, and the cleanliness left nothing to be desired. The views are especially lovely – particularly from the higher floors and from the restaurant and bar. The breakfast won us over too: varied and genuinely delicious. On price you are firmly in the upper bracket, even by London standards – in my view more like the top end of a four-star category. What clearly disappointed me, however, was the communication, and that started before we even arrived. I tried several times to reach the hotel in writing and received no reply at all. Among other things, I actually wanted to extend my stay by one night, which was not possible through Agoda – and that request went unanswered too. At checkout, no invoice could be produced for me; I was told it would be sent on afterwards, but in the end it only arrived after I chased it a second time. And then the surprise: charges on the bill that were never communicated to me at any point. First, a service charge of 5% of the room rate – described by the hotel as expressly voluntary, yet never once mentioned to me. I am always happy to tip, and we usually leave something in the room for housekeeping on departure. As non-UK guests we had no idea this is already handled here via an automatic service charge – so in effect we paid twice. On top of that: sometimes you might deliberately choose not to tip because something wasn't to your liking. That wasn't the case here, but no one could have known that, because the topic was simply never raised. And honestly, no one likes to feel they've been taken for a ride. Second, the prices for the laundry service were very high and were not made transparent anywhere in advance (>12 £ for a standard white T-shirt, no business shirt). Bottom line: from a design and location perspective, absolutely top-notch, but the extra and service costs are high and, above all, non-transparent. All of that would be perfectly fine with me if the hotel worked on its communication and transparency – in which case it would be an unreserved recommendation.

My Overall thoughts are I think its expensive for what you get even though the location is good. The staff are nice, checking in was easy, I asked for flowers to be put in the room and a couple of champagne glasses and ice bucket the flowers where put in a vase which was a nice touch and a Birthday card hand written, but no ice bucket. I requested one from room service who quickly came which was good. My overall impression is the room had a nice view with window seats as lookout room, the bed was comfortable shower nice and big, only downside the windows are useless for noise travelling from the ground and being a light sleeper being on the 12th floor could hear the dust cart moving bins in the early hours of the morning, motorbikes etc so soundproofing dreadful and when going to the bathroom, floor board creaked and sink was slow to drain the water. During Check in nothing was explained about the times for breakfast etc the restaurant floor even though I didnt have breakfast I thought it was kind of strange. Also you can get filtered water with the bottle in your room if you go outside of your room down the corridor in which is a tap ....Just these little things like that would of been nice to have someone explain the set up of the Hotel before going to your room. In the room was mini bar to use as a fridge after emptying all the miniatures. Used the restaurant and had Tacos which for two people costs *** each, The Lamb ones where really good lucky together one as had ran out on the Taco Tuesday cheaper and you could have as many as you liked but pricey for what you get as like an aperitif small starter so *** was steep in my opinion for two of us. Would I go back and stay unfortunately no I wouldn't mainly because of the noise from outside and room doors shutting ... but Ive tried it now and thats it.

Treehouse may look a little bleak on the outside but is very charming and cosy once you enter and really try’s to encapsulate what it would be like to stay in a treehouse. I would say the rooms are quite huge brilliantly decorated a fully stocked bar (not complimentary as they do not inform you upon arrival) as you enter your required to give a deposit of £240 in case there are damages. They offer a restaurant the madera and a bar called the nest with a rooftop and 360 views . Price range is a bit pricey for drinks and food from madera I had the chance to order room service, the food was 6/10 and few extra charges like tray and service. The staff were polite and attentive always a plus to have 8/10 the cleanliness was 6.5/10 I had noticed they don’t change the sheets they flip it over but that might be because I stayed 2 nights but made me wonder about other things like how they clean the seating area and pillows etc. as for location amazing next to the high street decent walking distance to the nearest Sainsbury’s, restaurants bars etc definitely 10/10 Overall a great stay would come again however they do overcharge and it would be nice if they had other facilities like a spa or gym overall rating 7/10
