Free Wifi, Full kitchen available- cook whatever you want. Beautiful lounge/library/sitting area with large stone fire place. It was winter so we had a nice fire going. Very intimate, cozy atmosphere. Perfect for family or friend gathering.
Nothing really. It's a really lovely place. It's pretty rustic. No TV's in the place. Just a great place to relax.

Very campy and rustic but felt like home. Beautiful lodge and room!
Nothing, it was all wonderful!

Great lawn and river access, nice owner, good short walk to town
Old and outdated bathroom, noisy floor from neighbors, lawn shared with tons of campers

Great river access. Cute lodge-y ambiance. Beautiful trees. Fun library.
Kinda grubby. Messy/disorganized common kitchen/pantry. Haunting portraits of indigenous people with no context

The ambience during lazy bear… the best
Everything is lovely

Al, the hotelier, was very charming and good to chat with. The lodge doesn't do breakfast or meals but has a well-equipped kitchen with tea, coffee, bread, bacon, milk, provided. A very relaxed vibe.
The garden is lovely. Big grassy area with volleyball net, space to frisbee, a deck by the river for swimming or boating.
The lodge is adjacent to the main road from Forestville to Guerneville and on to the coast. It is a busy road, and was very, very busy on Memorial weekend. Noisy at night in the rooms closest to the road.

Al, the owner was awesome and accommodated all our request. the lodge area is HUGE and there is enough space for everyone to enjoy time on the river bank or playing volleyball, basketball or table tennis.
Al provides fruits and mineral water for free on daily basis and the hot tub was available 24/7.
Awesome place for families.
Noise of little children early in the morning, but i guess that's the nature of staying in a lodge that serves as camping too.

The lodge was closed.
The owner didn't live nearby. It was dirty and locked with a heavy chain and padlock. We did not stay there. We would have been the only ones there and it was scary.

Location is a perfect walking distance to downtown gurneville but far enough away from the bustle that you can get a good night's sleep.

What a unique place to stay! So old timey, and beautiful. No TV, just enjoying the location and the company. Hot tub open whenever you want to use it. Owner is so sweet and friendly, he really lets you make it your own place. You can make a fire, cook in the big shared kitchen, play music on his old hand cranked record player. There is a dock the sits river side. The rooms are all different and unique. Some have little kitchens and fridge, some have claw foot tubs. Everything is left original by the current owner and it's just very spectacular! We will be going back during the summer months.
Nothing we didnt like. 12/10!

the deck and the field were great to catch some rays of sunshine. Al, the owner was very nice. he keeps the kitchen stocked for general use so we could make our own breakfast from everything he had in the kitchen. there were eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, coffee, jus, bread.
we had a room at the road which was quite noisy.

The friendly common spaces are very conducive to meeting other guests and encouraging conversation. The spacious property is lovely. The room was nicely appointed, very clean, and the bed was fine.
Traffic noise on the side facing the road. It did quiet down considerably during the night.

Beautiful property and the lodge is wonderfully decorated. The towels were very thick and great!
For as nicely decorated as it is, Al should invest in more luxurious bedding. The blankets were very thin and it was cold.
He also needs to pay a good cleaner; the room was full of cobwebs and dust.

Neat place, very close to the river and nice deck and living room space. Friendly and accommodating host
The road noise was a little loud

Convenient for the area
Very tired / dated place. Rooms not that clean. Cold - heating not on on arrival and tiny heater took hours to get room warm (no heating at all in bathroom). Bedroom door locks very insecure as work on a 4 digit code - it is worrying that any past guests could potentially just come in to the room.

open play area, close to river.
the deck was too crowded. lots of kids all day. a little rickety in places.

Huge garden surrounded by trees where you can read, relax, play.
Private river access and floatable equipment.
Beautiful building
No fuss management, laid back and warm community feeling.
Walking distance to downtown.
Nothing.
No AC and that some rooms only have bathtubs (no showers) may be non-ideal for some but we were fine. You can use the common shower if needed.

The place is within walking distance to town. 6 minutes to be exact. Big spacious outdoor area, perfect for stargazing at night. River access with a dock in the back. A great place for water toys, boards & canoes. The owner is super chill. Very family friendly. Plenty of games available for the whole family outside. Quaint and inviting. A weekend getaway in one place. Romantic and reminiscent of a simpler time.
Room facing the front gets a lot of traffic noise in the morning, but the pros still greatly outweigh any con.
