Beautiful property, great value - will definitely be back

Beautiful property with amazing rooms - very clean, modern and cozy! Love the peace and quiet and the views from the balcony or front yard were beautiful - you feel like you are inside a forest and I loved that. The reception staff were very friendly and upgraded us as well on request - which was awesome. For this cost, it is a great value. Will definitely come back for a romantic getaway!

They need some backup generator when power goes out due to bad weather. Power went out on the last night we were there and we had a difficult time with having to use flashlights to find our stuff at night - thankfully heaters were all gas based so they ran or we would have frozen up.

The facility was as expected but the staff is rude and inhospitable.

The location was central to the town and the cabin had a modern feel. The room was clean.

The staff was very rude and inhospitable. The front desk clerk would not hold my bag after checkout. The rudest part was they would not allow us to use the pool area after the 11am checkout which is the norm at many properties in Guerneville. What was the most shocking about her response was the question she asked me: "what makes you think that you can use the pool after checkout". I was stunned by her comment.

A peaceful paradise in Guerneville!

Such a wonderful place to spend your vacation time! We loved everything about the Highlands. The glamping tents are SO comfortable and spacious. The amenities offered with the tents were also really great. The property is beautiful and full of different nooks and places to sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. This property is also an easy walk into town so you never have to drive!

This place was perfect! I have absolutely zero complaints.

A beautiful setting, (if not a bit stuffy) with a side of inhospitality.

I loved the proximity to town and the cabins and gardens were very pretty...

The staff member taking care of our reservation was a grouch! She was really short with me for opting out of the texting thread for some reason, and was extremely condescending. She seemed to be annoyed by our presence. We almost avoided the free breakfast the next morning because we were worried about seeing her again. Her attitude contributed to the general idea I have of the property that it seems stuffy and unwelcoming. Not the go-with-the -flow Russian River vibes I come to expect from hospitality in Guerneville.

Highlands Resort is a Must Stay for Travelers to Guerneville

The architecture and cleanliness of the Highland Resort was superb. Amazing continental breakfast, the gardens, situated within tall redwood trees, you really felt the escape into the woods. Staff was always pleasant and delivered exceptional hospitality towards all guests. Job Well Done!

Barking dog from the neighbors as I slept in a glamping tent. I know you can't control that but at certain times of day it does break away from the great experience of the property.

We were the first guests to stay after the remodel. The rooms are beautiful!!! This place is a hidden gem for sure. Great weekend getaway destination! Would absolutely stay there again and can't wait to return! Cathy was so warm and welcoming!!

What a nice hotel, reasonable priced for the region, very friendly staff, good 'basic' breakfast (exactly what I needed, hard boiled eggs, yoghurt, fruit), very helpful staff for idea of hikes in the region, a nice fireplace in room, and generally excellent experience.

Beautiful common spaces including fire pit, bbq, bathrooms. Landscaping was beautiful and redwood trees around property made it feel like being in the forest.

Beautiful location.

Location is beautiful, set among the redwoods. Rooms are adequate. I liked that there was a sofa in the room. The pool looked nice. Didn’t try the pool because it wasn’t hot enough outside. I always appreciate a kitchen. The 420 smoking area was a plus.

AC or an overhead fan would have been nice. We had to stack fans on top of some chairs to blow onto the bed. The bathroom was small. They are updating units and the construction next door started at 7:30-8:00, too early in my opinion when people are there to relax. Rooms do need updating.
