Cozy apartment at the old town

Our stay at Zdravets was exceptional good. The landlady, Iren, welcomed us with gifts. She asked if we need something to make sure we are going to have a memorable stay. The location is perfect, in 1 minute there is a famous café and many shops in the the old town of Tarnovo. The kitchen is appropriate for cooking, there are trays, pans, pots. Clean towels, no dirt on the floor or elsewhere, cozy decoration. The apartment is truly flawless.

Relaxing weekend gettaway close to Bucharest

Excellent location, exactly in the heart of the old city within walking distance from all important sightseeing and best restaurants (strongly recommend both Shtastliveca and Ego restaurants). We stayed for 3 nights, apartment feels really cosy, suitable for a large familiy, looks exactly like in the pictures, has even baby cot, iron, hair dryer, cofee machine, toaster, kettle, quite everything you need. What I liked the most is our wonderful host, who spoke perfect English and was soo helpful and nice, gave us best advice and all needed details, attentive to our needs and wishes making our trip unforgettable. It is a bit difficult to find parking place near the house but only 30 metres away there is an old market- samovodska charshia which has free parking and there is enough space. One important detail for those with stroller for babies- old center streets have cobble stone, a bit irregular and steep to use a stroller, but maybe one with big wheels would do just fine. If you go during cold season, heating system is with air conditioning but every room has one. Also recommend to visit Tsaravets fortress and Arbanassi, an old village nearby with impressive well preserved churches.

Charming 2br in the heart of the city

Very clean, well equipped, central location, friendly host. Despite the central location and the directions by the host, we had difficulties finding our way there by car - confusing street/driving signs - so we ended up parking someplace else, which is not an easy task, the old town is not parking friendly, and walked for 10 min to get there. It wasn't a problem for us, since we travel light - with backpacks only, but bare in mind, if you have suitcases and decide to walk, it is a steep cobblestone street.

Very cute property, it was in a very old building but renovated nicely. It was within walking distance to many shops and restaurants and the views from the property were amazing.

Parking was a bit difficult, there are 3 units and there was room for only 2 cars and the space was very small. To be fair the property is located right in the old city so its not a surprise for the limited space.

A great place to stay in Veliko Tarnovo with the best hostess!

Highly recommended apartment and experience. Irene is the best possible hostess; she gave us the best attention, starting a few days before our arrival and filled us with details and recommendations. The apartment is beautiful and decorated with good taste. Also, we have love to find a shower tray and screen!! Thank you so much for all your help, Irene!

Love Zdravets Apt 🥰

It was such a great choice. To find such a cozy and nice place for a short trip in Veliko, it was quite unexpected. It is very well placed. It has such a beautiful view. I think that it's the perfect choice for a family or a group of friends.

Not so big problem for us, but it would be really nice to change the bed from the big bedroom. It is so uncomfortable.

Happy with our stay, everything was great. Good value for money!

Spacious traditional bulgarian house right in the old historic center. All tourist attractions are just a hop away. The building is old and thus quite cold, but there's AC in every room to keep you cosy, just like the tiny details that the host's taken care of (coffee, sweets, etc). Communication was easy, the keys are in a lock box so everything is very convenient. Surprisingly for such location, lots of parking space around (although on tiny cobbled streets).

The windows don't provide good sound insulation so be prepared with ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.

Great stay at Veliko Tarnovo

The location is perfect with a great view. Double glazed windows which blocks all noise. It was spotless clean and very homey. The owner was very responsive and answered quickly when we contacted her. Good AC in every room. We loved our stay there.

Parking in the old city is a bit challenging, streets are very narrow. We were lucky and found a spot right next to the apartment.

Very nice alltogether, would come back.

We liked the apartment, it was cosy, it had a coffe machine and cooking utensils, the rooms were big and it's in the old town, in a quiet place.

The beds were a bit noisy and uncomfortable, couldn't really figure out the heating (but that's on us, haha) and it was very difficult to get the keys. But these are only minor things, they didn't really bother us that much.

Great location

The location is excellent! The host was very nice :) The apartment is big and clean. It was great that the host let us some small things in order to prepare a nice breakfast :) Tks for that!

We didn't like very much the heating system meaning 4 ACs, i don t know how healthy is to work non stop 4 ACs trying to handle the warm in the whole apart. The air was dry because of it and also in the bathroom was a little bit cold when we were taking shower. Let s say it is not a huge issue when you are there as an adult, but with 2 small kids...mmm, it's not very comfortable.

Great accommodation

We had an amazing stay in Veliko Tarnovo. The property is great, located right in the heart of the old city in Veliko, close to restaurants, pubs and even the citadel and you have everything you need right there.

Everything was perfect, nothing to disturb us. The owners were kind enough and replied to our wtsapp messages throughout our stay. The location in the old city center was just right.

Disappointing

The view from the balcony is exceptional - a lovely spot to sit and have a drink.

Unfortunately a number of aspects of the apartment were disappointing. The lighting is insane - there are no lamps and only extremely bright ceiling lights which make the flat unpleasant to be in after dark. Added to this the lights in the kitchen and hallway are automatic and turn themselves off while you are in the rooms. The apartment is also noisy - it is above a road which attracts boy racers and near a bar which gets very loud at the weekend.
