Ira is an amazing host - so genuine and caring. A fascinating stay we will never forget. She is an amazing woman.

Ira is an amazing hostess, simply the best. She is authentic and genuinely cares that you feel welcome and have an enjoyable stay. Ira is a fascinating woman and we so much appreciated her hospitality and generosity. Her care and fuss was touching.

The house is very much ‘lived in’ with furniture everywhere. But you are very much in Ira’s home and that is the charm. It is definitely no sterile three star hotel - but a home oozing character with the most genuine of hosts.

We enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of the host, in addition the very reasonable price.

The friendliness of the host. Deep rooting discussions on the friendship between German and French people which was easy because the host´s native language was German. The documentations (books, photoes etc.) were proof of Frau Schulze´s activities.The location was very near the sights of La Charite sur Loire (La Prieure etc). The good price (including breakfast!!!) was more than reasonable.

The bedroom window faced the main road coming from the town centre and crossing the Isle de la Loire. The weather being extremely hot it was a disadvantage we couldn´t open the window. The air conditioning for obtaining fresh air from the direction of the Loire didn´t give much relief.

If you want a very characterful stay in a medieval house with a superb location this is for you.

The house was very old and so you have to be realistic. Having said that, the room had all we needed. It was quiet and had basic air conditioning. Ira (the owner) was superb, making us cups of tea upon arrival. Despite being elderly she was full of energy and helped with our cases. In fact she made the night ensuring we had a table at a local restaurant - we forgot to book ahead, then as it was raining heavily brought us an umbrella so we would not get wet on the way home!

As a very old house you have to be realistic - the showers were a little small and the toilet was neat door to our room. But everything worked and was spotlessly clean.

A delightful treat with a very generous host

Quaint, medieval building full of character. Wonderfully hospitable and very knowledgeable host. Lovely coffee at breakfast. House is right by the river Loire so an ideal location. Short walk over the bridge to the beautiful town of La Charite.

Heavy lorries going past in the morning were a tad noisy. Also I'm not sure the sink plug was working properly but no great issue there.

L'endroit est plein d'un charme surrané, et la dame est très gentille. On sent qu'une grande culture flotte dans cette maison pleine de livres.

Cette très vieille demeure, sans chauffage, était glaciale et confinée en même temps. Le lit, très inconfortable aujourd'hui, date sans doute d'il y a très longtemps. Nous sommes pas du tout du tout dans des normes de confort du 21ème siècle ! Surtout en hiver. Le pain du matin était rassis. La dame, visiblement très âgée, ne semble pas consciente de toute cette réalité. J'aurais bien aimé parler à son fils que je n'ai qu'aperçu...

Vieille maison au charme suranné, très bien placée avec un très bon accueil

Très bien placé sur une île sur la Loire, idéal par beau temps. La dame qui nous a reçu est extrêmement gentille.

Maison avec une décoration très ancienne, salle de douche au rez de chaussée avec chambre à l’étage. Peu d’isolation phonique. Compliqué de trouver le lieu avec l’adresse. Il vaut mieux faire le tour de l’île.

Bien pour passer une nuit

Malgré l’âge avancé et la difficulté à se faire comprendre (dame d’origine Allemande) , cette dernière est très gentille et très avenante pour que le séjour se passe bien.

Pas wc ni douche dans la chambre. Portes difficiles à ouvrir ou fermer.

Emplacement proche de tout. La propriétaire de 82 ans est gentille.

Le descriptif ne correspond pas à la réalité. Les murs en délabrement. Les pièces surchargées de vieux meubles. Pas de lumière naturelle, fenêtres et volets fermés. La literie vielle et inconfortable. La salle de bain usagée et manque de propreté.

L’emplacement était parfait pour la Loire à vélo et la dame nous a très bien reçu (pleins d’encouragements pour notre périple à vélo) Nous avons pu garer nos vélos en toute sécurité.

Il s’agit d’un gîte assez atypique, avec énormément d’objets d’époque. Convient pour une ou deux nuits avec un rapport qualité prix imbattable.

Ligging aan de Loire.

Zeer muffe lucht overal.Geen verluchting mogelijk. Raam ging niet meer open.Zeer ouderwets , jaren 50, als in een brocante. Veel stof, geen licht, ramen verduisterd, douche op ander verdiep. Aan de ontbijttafel amper plaats . Alles stond barstensvol. Ontbijt beneden alle peil. Heb niks gegeten, noch koffie gedronken. Uitbaatster zou er eerlijk gezegd beter mee ophouden. De tijd is gekomen. Sorry voor deze trouwens wel zeer vriendelijke ( overvriendelijke ) bejaarde dame.

Pas de chauffage, sa sentait très mauvais. Douche froide. Petit déjeuner lamentable.vous devez absolument supprimer cette adresse de votre site. Une odeur de pipi partout dans la maison. Horrible

Emplacement Maison ancienne avec le charme de ses inconvénients Bon Accueil par la propriétaire sur place et son fils au téléphone pour faciliter la communication le français n’étant pas la langue maternelle de la propriétaire acceuillante

Bruit avec proximité de la route Chambre humide Mauvaise ventilation, odeurs désagréables Salle de douche hors service sur palier R1 Toilettes sur palier limite hors service R1 Literie moyenne Hygiène de la salle du petit-déjeuner, on a l’impression de chiner dans une brocante avec la vingtaine de tasses et assiettes présentes depuis quelques semaines…sans utilisation. Avec mes excuses pour la propriétaire des lieux, j’ai du quitter l’établissement pour les raisons évoquées ci-dessus.
