Host extremely welcoming and went above and beyond on a couple of matters; spotlessly clean; excellent shower; comfortable bed; location perfect for what I needed (two-minute walk from Giffnock station).
The only small downside is that there is some road noise. It was noticeable but didn't stop me working or sleeping.

It was easy to find on the main road through Giffnock and only a 5 minute walk from the railway station (15 mins into Glasgow Central). Ideal. There was off-street parking in front of the house and I was met with a friendly welcome. I actually had a choice of rooms as well. The room was spacious for 2 people complete with en suite. Everything looked very new and freshly decorated.

Unfortunately the double bed - almost a metre off the floor - proved a challenge for my companion but there was also a single bed which she could use. I am average height and the bed was not ideal so, if booking with Giffnock rooms, do ask about this. We found the mattress far too soft and it actually made it more difficult to get on the bed. On day 2 our host provided a stool to get into the bed. A nice gesture but far from ideal and the single bed proved a good standby. Tea/coffee/milk was down the corridor - would be better to have those little packets in the room as in most hotels.
I think our host will be disappointed with our criticism as she is well-intentioned and made her best effort. However it would be unfair to other bookers not to give an honest review.
