I needed a bed in Glasgow for two nights. Giffnock Rooms fitted the bill for me exceptionally well; the location within 2 minutes of Giffnock railway station (frequent trains to Glasgow Central) is ideal for non-drivers, and there's a range of cafés and restaurants even closer than that. Jackie was a friendly but unintrusive host. NB only a very simple breakfast is available - cereal/croissants/fruit - but there is a range of local options.

Ideally I'd have had a wash basin in my single room but one can't have everything. I tend to be sensitive to noise and I was conscious at times of the traffic outside.

Beautiful very well kept property with lovely decor, our room was lovely, quiet and bright with x 2 large windows, the bed was really comfortable, our room had a lovely en-suite. There were complementary cold breakfast items, which was a lovely touch. We used the train (2 minute walk) to get into Glasgow (£3.50 each, return), the taxis were very reasonably priced too, there are a few great bars and eateries just a minutes walk away.Jaqueline is a wonderful host that cannot do enough for you. Would highly recommend the Giffnock Rooms and if we ever visit Glasgow again, will definitely book again. Many thanks Jaqueline. 😀

Everything was perfect for our stay.

It was easy to find on the main road through Giffnock and only a 5 minute walk from the railway station (15 mins into Glasgow Central). Ideal. There was off-street parking in front of the house and I was met with a friendly welcome. I actually had a choice of rooms as well. The room was spacious for 2 people complete with en suite. Everything looked very new and freshly decorated. Ideal location for trips in and around Glasgow city as so close to the main stations and downtown.A

Unfortunately the double bed - almost a metre off the floor - proved a challenge for my companion but there was also a single bed which she could use. I am average height and the bed was not ideal so, if booking with Giffnock rooms, do ask about this. We found the mattress far too soft and it actually made it more difficult to get on the bed. On day 2 our host provided a stool to get into the bed. A nice gesture but far from ideal and the single bed proved a good standby. Tea/coffee/milk was down the corridor - would be better to have those little packets in the room as in most hotels. I think our host will be disappointed with our criticism as she is well-intentioned and made her best effort. However it would be unfair to other bookers not to give an honest review.
