Lazy Bear's Lodge is a three-bedroom, two-bath vacation rental in Twin Peaks Estates, offering a peaceful mountain setting next to the Tahoe National Forest. What makes Lazy Bear's Lodge special? The home combines classic mountain charm with comfortable modern amenities in a quiet, forested setting. The main floor is easily accessible with minimal stairs and features a spacious great room with comfortable seating, a beautiful rock fireplace, and a flat-screen television. After a day exploring the mountains, guests can gather around the fireplace, relax, and enjoy the cozy atmosphere.
The recently remodeled kitchen is conveniently located next to the dining area and provides a comfortable space for preparing meals together. During the warmer months, guests can take advantage of the outdoor dining area located directly off the main living space, making it easy to enjoy meals surrounded by the peaceful mountain setting.
Where can guests sleep? The main floor features two comfortable bedrooms, each furnished with one queen bed and thoughtfully decorated in a classic mountain style. These two bedrooms share a full bathroom, making the main level convenient for families and couples traveling together.
Upstairs, the third bedroom is tucked beneath the cabin's charming A-frame roof and features four twin beds and its own television. This spacious sleeping area is especially well suited for children, teens, or groups of friends. Just outside the bedroom, a cozy loft alcove features a writing desk and two reading chairs, creating a quiet space for reading, relaxing, or catching up on work. A second full bathroom is also located upstairs.

Conveniently located two miles south of Tahoe City on Lake Tahoe's west shore, you'll find the quiet residential neighborhoods of Talmont and Tahoe Park. Just up the hill from Sunnyside, these neighborhoods offers easy access to Paige Meadows and miles of back-country which is popular for hiking/biking in summer and cross country skiing/snowshoeing in winter.
Just down the road you'll find Sunnyside Resort and Marina and William Kent Shoreline. William Kent beach is situated in a wooded setting and offers picnic tables and grills with views across Lake Tahoe of the eastern shoreline. Next door, Sunnyside Resort is a favorite year round lakeside dining option.
During the ski season, you are less than fifteen minutes from Homewood Mountain Resort. Or travel to Palisades Tahoe (formally known as Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows) which is the largest ski resort in Lake Tahoe. Palisades Tahoe has a shuttle that runs continuously between the base area of Olympic Valley & Alpine Meadows when both resorts are open for operations, weather, and traffic permitting.

Beautiful Tahoe vibes and nice location next to walking trails. Only issue for us was the tiny kitchen. We are big foodies and love to cook family meals at home. Outside grill was a lifesaver! Definitely would recommend. The deck and hot tub are very nice!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, cozy cabin! The photos are accurate and we enjoyed the old Tahoe, rustic decor. The cabin has tremendous character and is clearly loved and cared for by the owners. The kitchen is very well stocked and our family really enjoyed the jacuzzi. The cabin sits at the top of the hill above the West Shore. Highly recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle to navigate the hill in winter. Note that the cabin has a nice gas fireplace and firewood is not necessary. We can’t wait to return!

Very nicely decorated and equipped cabin in a quiet location, yet just a few minutes from the lake, restaurants, and shopping.
Location at the end of a cul-de-sac, steps from national forest boundary was perfect for hiking and mountain biking.

I really wanted to like this place. Don't get me wrong, the cabin itself is very nice - beds are comfortable, ample seating in living room, kitchen fully stocked w/ all necessities (bring your own spices, oils, etc)., and lovely patio and hot tub. However, dealing with the property management company, in particular the Guest Services Manager (Jenn), was very frustrating. I had either a conversation or numerous texts for 5 out of our 6 days that we were there. I finally had to tell the person to not text me anymore as she just didn't get my overt hints to leave me along. This is something that could have been resolved prior to our stay. And the issue was only resolved because new renters were coming in and the property manager wanted the issue to be resolved for them and not us. So at the end of the day, while the property is nice please be aware that the property manager doesn't have doesn't seem to have your best interests in mind.
