Botica Guesthouse

Outstanding boutique apartment, very fresh and clean, with beautiful wooden floor, air conditioning, a well designed kitchen, dining area, a very comfortable bed, and just beautiful. The location is right in the center of Espinho, on the traditional pedestrian street, 150 meters or so from the beach. Small gestures like having a few coffee capsules waiting for me and some drinking water. The coffee maker delivered very good and hot coffee, better than I have seen elsewhere. The kitchen is well equipped. They provide free parasols for the beach and a beach towel for a nominal fee (of only 2 Euro). The hostess was very attentive. Check-in was easy. I came very late due to air travel troubles, which posed no problem at all. All around a fantastic stay, wish I had had more time.

The pedestrian street does have some people talking on these nice summer nights. I had the only apartment facing the street, so with open windows I did hear that. But the windows are very modern and provide perfect sound insulation. Plus, the quiet and efficient air conditioner makes that you can have the desired room temperature even if you keep the windows closed at night.

The hotel has an excellent location. I also really liked the interior design: there are many beautiful design details, paintings, and carefully chosen decorative elements. The hotel has a clear and distinctive concept, with visible attention to nature and sustainability, which creates a very pleasant atmosphere.

The pillows were very large and uncomfortable. Some of the dishes were not properly clean. There are also many stairs in the hotel, which can be inconvenient when travelling with luggage. The air conditioning blows directly onto the bed, so it is difficult to use comfortably; however, without it, the room becomes quite warm.
