Quinta Do Martelo

It was different from a normal hotel but for my taste a bit of a theme park The staff was very attentive almost excessively so.

The beds were very firm not to my taste. The menu at the restaurant was not to our taste. There were very few choices on the menu mostly meat dishes.

Quinta do Martelo offers a unique, historic stay in restored stone buildings that feel like a living museum of Azorean tradition. Guests enjoy peaceful surroundings, farm animals, an outstanding local breakfast, and exceptionally warm hospitality. I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed Quinta do Martelo very much. It is a rustic, traditional Azorean setting on an old orange farm. We enjoyed wandering the grounds, looking at the old structures and beautiful plants. Our house was comfortable. Our kitchen was stocked with breakfast items (fresh bread, cheese, meats, jams, coffee). If you are looking to step back in time on the Azores, this is the place for you. Gilbert was very attentive and informative and we loved the on site restaurant which we ate at twice.

The breakfast lady was a jewel. She matched the authenticity of the place. She truly made our stay more enjoyable! Location during the celebration was good.

The facility was very old from the 1800’s. Updated several living parts. If advertised for the experience it provided, we could have been better prepared for we saw upon arrival. Shocked! The insects, the creepy creatures within.
