The Bolthole

It was clean and well maintained inside. Nice walk to town and the sea front. Quiet location, lots of birds enjoying the garden. Generous welcome pack with tea bags, coffee, milk and biscuits. As well as cleaning products supplied, which we really appreciate. Bedding was nice and clean. Sitting room was cozy. Kitchen was well equipped. Private entrance bridge over the river.

As are many of the properties in this area, it’s quite expensive for a short stay. The location is good, but if you were carrying lots of bags from the nearest parking or bus stop it’s bit of a walk. We managed to find street parking up the hill, but I think we were lucky. The nearest car park was very expensive; eg £50 for 3 nights. I chose this accommodation for the garden by the river but was disappointed you could not see the river from the garden.

Amazing location, beautiful short walk to town and beach. House was lovely, nicely furnished enough space. The kids loved having their own bridge over the river to the house.

Hot water issues - hot water only lasted about 10seconds before cycling back to cold and then back to hot again. Made showers pretty uncomfortable. Parking can be a pain but we found free locations a short walk away. Local suggested car park was full when we looked and was also £50 for 3 days parking.

It was enchanting, comfortable, and clean.

No parking. Had to park at expense and inconvenience. The booking agency did not make it clear that there was no parking. They mentioned it could be tricky, but not that there was no parking at the address.

It is such a magical location, so close to the centre of town but very peaceful and felt very specially with the stream and bridge in a tucked away location

Adds to its charm but the small lane is a nightmare to drop off your bags before parking the car. There is no way around it and once you’re in you will soon forget about the small ordeal! We know better for next time and will park at the top of the lane and do a few trips down with bags
