Gem Apartment by Castle (Old Town Krakow)

Very nice apartment, well equipped

The elevator wasn’t working and it’s in third flour so wasn’t great to climb the stares with suitcases

The apartment was lovely, very clean and nicely decorated and very well equipped. It was quiet and the WiFi was good and reliable. The location was excellent, close to the river and castle, near buses and trams and walking distance of many excellent restaurants. the bathroom with walk-in shower and separate cloakroom were very nice.

On meeting us the owner announced the lift was not working, this meant having to walk up three floors of stone steps with spiral turnings in an old building with tremendously high ceilings. I am 85 and use a stick to assist my walking so this was not good news. My daughter had to lug a heavy suitcase up and down these stairs as well as assist me in negotiating them. It appeared to us the lift had not worked for some time so anyone booking this apartment should make a point of ensuring the lift is working before committing to a reservation. More shelf space around the wash basin in the bathroom would be good.

The location is excellent, close to places to visit and to local transport. The apartment was clean and comfortable.

There was a little window in the room without a curtain and the sunlight came to the room at 04:50 am. If added, the curtain would make everything perfect.
