It was beautiful, cozy and inviting. And the host, Ian was fantastic and taught us a good bit of the house’s interesting history. The gardens were also an unexpected treat. And the food was delicious, especially at Strawberry Fields!
Our room got a bit warm overnight.

Location and layout of the old part of the house. Lovely decor. Comfortable bedrooms. The staff are all very pleasant but a bit thin on the ground.
The Bistro is nice new idea for summer months but I cant see guests wanting to go out in the rain and snow just to have dinner. It’s a little cramped and not nearly as comfortable as the internal dining room where breakfast is held. Certainly for winter , that would seem a much better choice for dinner too.
