About this cottage rental
The castle cottages, newly refurbished, are on a heritage site, flanking a superb 1500s castle (Tower House). Butlerstown has been in the ownership of the same family for many generations, and it has been the wish of the current owners for many years that its beauty and tranquility should be made more available to the public. Set in 100 acre farm and woodland, in the sunniest corner of Ireland, we are just 10 mins drive from the closest good beach. The castle cottages have their own private Herb Garden and Lavender Haggard, and there is a small soccer pitch for children to play on. Good local restaurants, pubs (such as Mary Barry's pub/restaurant), riding stables, golf courses, museums and bird heritage sites (such as the Saltee Islands, North Slob and Tacumshin Lake) are all within easy striking distance. Donkeys and other pet animals, and a traditionally run vegetable garden, ancient well and other special features all help to make Butlerstown a unique place.

This was a much needed break from life... in the US! And what a delight. Anna and Jim were more than hospitable and accommodating. I ran into snags with my car rental and had delay a day for arriving. They didn't bat an eye. The property is incredible! And the family's history with the land is just so special. i wish I had traveled with family and we filled the other rooms, but it was me and my pups who delighted in Pipa and Ollie and all the sheep... and our country lane walks! If I have reason to be back in the area this is my #1 pick! Thanks Anna and Ollie for a blessed, quite, restful week - albeit filled with loads of road time! Slainte!

It was like staying in a history book. The property and its history are amazing. The craftmenship in the restoration is really well done. We loved it.

We stayed at the cottage for our first two nights of an extended stay in Ireland, and it was perfect for the kids. They loved the donkeys and the sheep, the tower was a once in lifetime experience, and using the wood stove so special. I personally loved the gardens and the sitting room best of all.We were so grateful to meet the hosts and tour their magical property.

Where do I start ? It’s the Best Holiday we have ever had. Just 15 minutes from Rosslare & Wexford, a perfect beautiful quiet tranquil home to enjoy the South East of Ireland. Our hosts Jim & Anna are the kindest most helpful hosts ever, we had a tour of the amazing castle, they even looked after our dogs so we could go to Dublin for the day, nothing was too much trouble. We loved our home which 7 of us stayed Limited WiFi which for a few days killed us but we grew to love not sitting on our phones, instead we fed the donkeys chickens sheep and had quality family time. Ollie the donkey and myself bonded and I’m going to miss him so much even though he kissed me and pinched my gold earring lol You need a car... we had 2 and we visited the lovely beaches towns church’s Pubs cafes castles restaurants theatres... we didn’t stop and was blessed with the sunny weather, but I’d go back in the winter with the open fire, warm baths, and cosy front room.This isn’t your standard accommodation, it’s special and we really can’t wait to return. Anna Jim Thankyou so much xxThis holiday was so important to us, bringing my mum back home to Ireland and it couldn’t of been more perfect xx
