Weekend getaway

What an absolute peaceful and enjoyable weekend we had at Robert's place. Thank you Robert for being an awesome host, great conversations and just a call away to assist with any questions we may have. We enjoyed everything about it, from swimming, to braai to shooting pool. The room was comfortable and location perfect.

Bar was cold and unwelcoming.Was charged for ice R10 a bag,despite there being an ice maker.Owner was unfriendly.The Charlie Kirk sign on the front which hinted at the nuance of non whites not welcome.Fully stocked,bar fridge,coffee supplies and microwave,but the first rule was."No eating,drinking or smoking in bedroom" You have to feed the electricity meter if you want Aircon which was ridiculous.Also you cannot unplug anything to charge your phone as the rules state.Not a user friendly establishment at all.I did not feel safe.We were put in outside rooms.

Short stay in Paarl

Robert is accommodating and the facility is geared for backup water and electricuty. It's like a big family home where everyone has their own room & bathroom. Shared kitchen with the host living on site - very welcoming. Large clean Pool and although outdoor area is compact, you still have an inviting atmosphere.

It was a short stay but it definitely the perfect venue for a big family. We've enjoyed our stay.

It is self-catering and we had access to the kitchen in the main house. All rooms are comfortable, although not very spacious. The host is a peoples person and accommodating. We've enjoyed our stay as a family.

Robert was very accommodating and friendly. The room was very spacious and covered all of our needs. Close to town so we did not have to travel far. Good safe area.

Deluxe queen room booked. Nothing deluxe about it. No hanging space for clothes. Chipped walls and finishing. Fan didn’t work. Extra charge to use aircon after 8 pm. Hot water in shower only enough for one person. Unsecured parking. Ridiculous house rules. Host quite terse.

Robert himself was so accommodating. Everything was there for us. Small things like coffee, milk, cereal, fire lighters, wood etc was available to everyone at no cost. He was super friendly. Loved my stay and would definitely use Robert again if we go Paarl side. Big Thank you Robert.

Beds were comfortable. Room was clean.

The owner controlled when we would have elerticity. Paarl is warm and then all of a sudden the aircone would just switch off and some of the plugs did not work. We could then not even turn on the fan because the plugs did not work. The room is also poorly ventilated with only one window, so the fan and aircone is neccessary, wich we could not use most of the time. The room is also seperate from the house where the kitchen is. One night I went into the house to make some coffee and the owner rudely shouted, who is in the house if I were a thief. We also did not have a lot of privacy. The owner was friendly most of the time, but seemed disingenuous. We definitely wont recommend this place for anyone and will not be staying there again.

It was stressfull and felt undermined

The location itself is good

It is true when they say all that glitters is not gold, the place needs renovations, as it is winter with cold front cold, the shower had cold water, the fan heater in the room is making noice and lot of water coming out of it and water running on the floor. I am not underming backpackers but the place was overcrowded. There was a paraffin heater and that for me was too low as parafin is smelling and cause some tight chest to me and people smoke inside the house. I was shocked when the owner come to fix the heater in my room in the afternoon and he goes down the whole trouser was below the bums and all the bums out, that was really unproffesional.
