Khao Sok Morning Mist Resort

The location. The breakfast.

All was good.

We stayed here before heading off to the lake to spend a few nights at the beautiful floating resorts, and overall we had a really pleasant stay. We didn’t know much about the area beforehand, so it was a nice introduction to Khao Sok. The staff were lovely and very welcoming throughout our stay. The location was convenient and the room itself felt very authentically Thai, tucked away down a long jungle pathway beside the river, which gave the whole place a peaceful atmosphere. The bed was decent and came with a mosquito net, which was appreciated. The bathroom was very basic and the fridge barely worked, but honestly none of it ruined the experience for us. It felt more rustic than luxurious, which suited the surroundings quite well. Personally, I’d recommend staying for a night or two as part of a wider trip rather than spending your entire holiday here, but for what we needed it was absolutely fine. A special thank you to the staff as well because I accidentally left my dental trays behind after checkout. They kindly kept them safe for me until I arranged collection, which I was very grateful for.

The barely working fridge is probably the only real criticism I could make. Because the power turns off when you leave the room, and I’d imagine the fridge is also left off when the room is unoccupied, it didn’t seem to stay particularly cold. Long term that probably isn’t great for the fridge itself either. That said, it honestly didn’t negatively affect our stay at all and I’d still happily recommend the place to anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic stay in the area.

Good place to stay before going to the lake the next day. Good to cool down at the pool. The reception staff were incredibly helpful before our stay, arranging transfers and the trip to the lake. Thank you!

Mosquito nets were not too great, would have liked those square nets without holes.

I’m afraid this hotel and area is far to tourist driven not much Thailand culture to experience, found local vendors and shop owners rude and only interested in charging you higher prices as it seems their expectations are that visiting non nationals are rich people who can pay more, very disappointing

I’m afraid room to small bathroom to dark, shower was not working correctly, noisy Air Conditioning unit, no internet access in the room only at reception & pool area. Prices inflated for food and drinks. Trips and tours over priced 😞😞😞
