A peaceful gem near Chinon - perfect start of our holiday

We stayed at Domaine Givre for just one night on our way to Bordeaux. The location is fantastic - peaceful and beautifully set just outside Chinon, with easy access to explore the Loire Valley. The accommodation is a carefully restored barn converted into stylish and modern rooms that are both tasteful and very comfortable. There was water, tea and coffee in the room and everything was spotlessly clean. The hosts were absolutely lovely - warm , welcoming and generous with their time. We had a great chat and they even showed us around the property which made the experience feel very personal and memorable. Breakfast was served outside and it was simply fantastic, fresh delicious and a beautiful way to start the day. I truly hope to return and spend more time there.

Impeccable in every way.

Very warm welcome and hosts have thought through every detail in the room. We had a delightful little private terrace to sit on for reading and apéro. After we had left on bikes in pouring rain they texted us that evening to check we were ok. Wished we could have stayed for more nights to enjoy the pool and peaceful garden

Our room was beautiful, but the room down stairs was breathtaking, had I of known I would have booked the bottom room.. however the top room had a beautiful little private terrace where breakfast was served each morning.. wow!

A perfect location to break out journey, but also suitable for a longer stay if exploring the Loire.

We stayed for 2 nights on our way back to England from Provence, and this was an deal location to break the journey with comfortable accommodation and a friendly welcome. The breakfast was lovely with local produce which we were able to enjoy in the garden when the weather allowed.

Nothing really, a restaurant within walking distance would have allowed us to enjoy the local wine, but we bought cold meat, cheese and wine to enjoy at home on one evening.

Relaxing place in beautiful Loire, looking forward to return visit

Charming country bed and breakfast property with delightful attentive hosts. Room with rustic beams and very comfortable bed. Use of swimming pool with towels provided. The breakfast was excellent and beautifully presented. Very convenient location for visiting the chateaux in the region and pretty town of Chinon. Good stopover on the way up to Caen.

Absolutely brilliant, loved it, more than 100%

it’s our 5th visit and we just love it there, so quiet and peaceful. the bed was more comfortable than mine at home!! the decor is lovely and spotlessly clean. Vero and Roman make you so welcome and nothing too much trouble. We’re definitely coming again and next time for longer.

Amazing!

We stayed in this charming place during our honeymoon and it was very nice! The room is in a converted medieval barn: it is very spacious, decorated with style and care, and features two separate sitting areas. The breakfast was more than ample - with plenty of options to choose from - one of the best we had in France. What makes the place really special is its owners - Vero and Ronan. To give only one example: Vero kindly did our laundry for us and didn't even charge for it! Overall, an unforgettable experience!

If there's one thing I would recommend is a mosquito screen on the window, so that it can be safely opened at night.

A definite "must return".

Welcoming multilingual couple who went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. A generous breakfast served in the room rather than their house "because of covid". Lovely location 3 kms from the town centre: 15th century property sensitively renovated and attractively decorated/furnished. Chinon, and thus the property, is well located for exploring the Loire valley. Very relaxing stay.

Perfect!

We received a warm welcome from the lovely hosts. They really did an amazing job renovating the domain and the rooms, it's so beautiful! It's the perfect place to take it easy, enjoy the wonderful breakfast, relax at the beautiful pool (while enjoying the surrounding scenery), and visit the beautiful historic town of Chinon (15 minutes by bike), Tours (40 minutes by car) or an abundance of wine domains. We loved it and would definitely come back! Cheers Vero, Ronan and kids!

A perfect stay

The room was beautiful with the most comfortable bed. Everything was decorated so tastefully, with little special touches everywhere, like the little seating area at the front of the room and sprigs of lavender in the breakfast basket. The owners rented us bikes and we just used those the whole time we stayed there - cycling into Chinon, the nearest town (3k) and along to some delicious vineyards. Great restaurant recommendations in Chinon and enormous continental breakfast each morning.

I wish i could apply over 10/10 as this b&b was the best I have evry stayed (and that is a lot!) the photos cannot do this place justice as not only is the whole property stunning, clean, beautifully decorated and thought out but the hosts, Rowna and Vero could not have been better. The surrounding area is beautiful, its aa few km outside pretty Chinon. The propery itself is so beautiful, including the gorgeous pool area, picnic tables and sun loungers. Vero has a very artistic talent and the rooms really are a masterpeace, not only huge, clean and comfortable but her eye for detail is second to none and beautiful. Pool towels were provided, lovely lighting in the garden for ambience in the evenings. So quiet and peaceful. The breakfasts were the best we had in the whole trip around France. Homemade, fresh and huge and like everything else, beautifully presented. We left feeling very sad that the stay had come to an end and we felt like we had made new friends with our wonderful hosts, thank you both very much.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay at Domaine de Givré! Warm welcome by the hosts Ronan and Vero. Easy to talk to and helpful, we got some nice tips on the area (and a blanket for an evening picknick at a nearby chateaux). The room is beautifully renovated and has a lot of authentic elements. But also a modern bathroom and comfy bed. Best breakfast we had on our Loire trip with fresh products and fruit. The whole domain is just beautiful with lots of places to sit, relax, aperitif, play a game, a pool... All this together with the owners hospitality really gives you that holiday feeling. Thanks and hope to be back one day.

C'est un domaine a découvrir absolument par son charme, un cadre idyllique, une piscine sympathique et son histoire exceptionnelle. Incroyable !

Mon compagnon et moi avons séjourné trois nuits dans ce lieu magnifique. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis par nos hôtes avec beaucoup de chaleur et de convivialité. La chambre est superbe, décorée avec goût et très fonctionnelle. Le domaine est tout simplement splendide, et nous avons grandement apprécié pouvoir en profiter — notamment pour prendre le petit déjeuner en extérieur ou encore se détendre à la piscine. Le petit déjeuner est quant à lui absolument délicieux, varié et très soigné. Mais ce qui rend ce séjour vraiment exceptionnel, c’est le professionnalisme et la bienveillance de nos hôtes. Toujours disponibles, ils nous ont très bien conseillés et aidés pour de petites choses du quotidien. En résumé, nous recommandons vivement ce lieu et reviendrons sans hésitation si nous repassons dans la région !
