The staff are exceptionally helpful and the rooftop terrace for evening drinks and breakfast is really beautiful with views over Tangiers and the water. The bed was very comfortable.

Like in all médinas it can be difficult to navigate to the hotel and Google Maps may let you down!

Overall, we had a pleasant stay in a beautiful room near the medina. Dar Nour has a unique charm, and Joseph was exceptionally welcoming. He kindly showed us around the property and shared that Dar Nour was the first hotel built in the medina, which made the experience feel even more special. We were given one of the oldest rooms in the hotel, adding to the authentic atmosphere. The location was very convenient for exploring the medina, and the rooftop with its sea view was definitely a highlight. Although our stay was short, it was enjoyable overall, and the staff were very accommodating throughout our visit.

I noticed was a slightly unusual smell in the room. The bathroom was downstairs and though guests should be careful because there are stairs inside the bathroom that can become slippery.

The layout of the property had it divided into multiple buildings next door to each other. Our room was basically an attic in the annex. Steps up the 3 flights were extremely narrow and dangerous. No handrail for more than half of the flights. There was a beautiful roof deck where you could get a drink, BUT with no food option, it was very windy and cold but there weren’t any heaters, and it was extremely noisy and disruptive when we tried to go to sleep. The bathroom was like an add on and there was a step up once inside. Because the tile color was the same, it was very easy to forget there was a step at all as I can document since falling when I missed the step and suffering for two days while it bruised. I was very lucky I didn’t break it. For two days, we feared I did ! And finally, breakfast started at 8.30, too late for tourists who needed to get out to meet their guides. It was clean, it was funky, the employees were terrific and helpful, but this is not a place for older people. It really is too dangerous.
