Casa Rovai Guest House

We really enjoyed the location, as it was within walking distance of Florence’s main attractions. The room was very clean, with comfortable beds and spotless bed linens. Although the bathroom was small, it was well equipped with a bidet, and the shower was great, with doors that closed properly so no water leaked out. Breakfast was much better than we expected, with a croissant, fresh fruit, sandwiches, juice, and spreads like butter, jam, and Nutella. The coffee was excellent, and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming.

The main downside was the connecting door between our room and the neighboring one. Unfortunately, we could hear almost everything from the other room, and one night the guest next door stayed up late and was quite noisy. Fortunately, we were very tired and managed to fall asleep. The towels are changed every three days. However, when we asked for fresh ones earlier, the hosts were happy to provide them. The elevator was extremely small, slow, and felt a bit uncomfortable, although this wasn’t a major issue for us since the guest house is only on the second floor and we used the stairs.

It’s a lovely location, and the traditional courtyard setting means that, even though it’s in a lively, central part of town, it was a peaceful night’s sleep with a very comfortable bed.

So, there was a facility to make tea and coffee but only in a shared area- we arrived quite late due to train delays and so no one on duty- there were no clean cups and a notice saying you weren’t allowed to take cups into your room. I just washed one in the bathroom but it didn’t feel very welcoming.
