Hôtel Marais de Launay

Wonderful staff, beautiful small hotel close to metro. Clean hotel, comfortable beds, fabulous breakfast.

The location was near public transit and the neighborhood felt safe. The check-in desk being manned 24/7 was a godsend since my train arrival was delayed.

The antiquated wall-mounted hair dryer created challenges for drying my hair. The hose came off completely at one point and the grip became so hot until I had to wrap it in a towel to finish drying my hair. In these days of limited luggage space and high checked bag fees, a decent hair dryer in the hotel is highly desired.

I'm a fairly frequent visitor to Paris, mostly for work, and this was a standard hotel and room for the price, but the staff stood out in a positive way. The room was big enough for one person, it was clean, breakfast was standard, air conditioning was good, lift was slow but worked, surroundings were pleasant but unexciting (a short, easy walk from more interesting locations). The water bottle filling station was a nice touch. Staff were great, I interacted with 3-4 different people and all of them were friendly and helpful, probably the most pleasant staff I've experienced in a Paris hotel.

The bed was okay (I've slept in more comfortable hotel beds, but also in much worse ones). The bathroom was quite small, but manageable.
