Fabulous family hotel right by the beach

The hotel is in a fantastic location and the family room was extremely spacious and comfortable. The restaurant on reception level had a great menu and a nice-fancy atmosphere. The hotel car park is also a great thing to have. When there was an issue, the staff were very quick and thorough to sort it out. The cooked breakfast buffet was good.

The bathroom in the family room really doesn't match the rest of the hotel. Very old-fashioned, short shallow bath, fixed shower and the shower curtain is installed far too close to the wall and will always cling to you. The breakfast had slightly fewer options than we hoped. No chocolate spread and only one kind of ham and cheese.

1) location of room 131 in garden. 2) Heating not up to standard as radiator's not working and arrived in room after 17.00 and window open. 3) Room was cold 4) One of the guests picked up flu as a result of cold room.

Location and big rooms

Portions in restaurant have been reduced compared to previous times . Very few veg with roast . No lemon with salmon starter . Tiny piece of bread . Veg soup was actually broccoli . Very gluey soup .

Given the price I paid for this location, I was shocked on the low quality delivered.

I enjoyed leaving the hotel to go home, I would never ever return.

This should be a 3 star hotel, bordering on a 2 star hotel. Facilities were a mess, box’s in the hallways, beer kegs all over the car park, dirty bathrooms and shower trays not cleaned, paper thin walls between rooms, the bed duvets were thin, old and stained, and cheap quality, we had to order an extra duvets, the bed mattress was stained.The coffee machine was not working. The electric car chargers do not work, and were unhelpful in finding a charger that worked.

Have been here a few occasions, absolutely love it as we can bring our little . fabulous location as on the beach for beach walks , also u can dine and enjoy a beverage or two in the large lobby with the dog , Staff very friendly as nice to see some long term staff always a good sign .We'll be back

Poor standards and overpriced.

The location and sea views are lovely and the staff are lovely.

The bedroom was smelly with only a velux window with a broken blind. Carpet very stained and all in all very shabby. I was charged €228 for one person for. Thursday night in November and the room and breakfast were very mediocre and not worth half of the rate charged.

Elevators extremely slow. Breakfast was mediocre. It felt like they were forgoing quality. Eg bacon was sub par. Bar service was very slow initially. There was a wedding in the property, but we were right in front of them and the 4 people behind the bar ignored me for quite some time.

Memorable staycation for my son’s birthday!

The staff had a birthday cake and suprise for my 4 year old son in our room when we arrived. It was so lovely, it made his day! All the staff knew his name and wished him happy birthday. It was so special!

We stayed in the apartments. They are so spacious and with gorgeous views. Staff are lovely and the hotel is nice.

Bed was very uncomfortable and the rooms windows did not had black out blinds or curtains. There was no hot water for showers.

The staff and quality of food were excellent.

I had one of their Garden Rooms. The bedroom was abysmal. Little clothes storage, a stand alone air conditioner that was situated at the back of a cubby hole preventing it from blowing cool air into the main part of the room. But the biggy was the design of the room was such that part of the wall and ceiling were glass with no way to cover it. So as soon as the sun rose at 4am the room was flooded with sunlight making sleep difficult. There was also no phone in the room but there was a phone lead sticking out from under the bedside table. There was a room service menu but no phone with which to order anything. I was told by reception that Garden Rooms did not have phones but they looked to have had at some point. I had to make an international call from my UK mobile to reception to ask for anything! The hotel also seem to have a problem with toilet paper. One roll per room was all you got unless you complained. This was a common problem with all our group staying in various types of rooms. The shower was great as was the balcony but overall the room was a great disappointment.

Lovely cottage

On arrival, it was discovered our booking was cancelled by mistake. I had originally booked for a room in the hotel. The reception staff offered us the cottage completely free of charge, as well as free breakfast and a complimentary drink each at the bar. We stayed in the cottage at the rear of the hotel, facing the beach. It was spacious and both bedrooms had ensuite bathrooms. Free parking was readily available either in the indoor car park or outside the hotel. The hotel is centrally located in Enniscrone and easy to find. It is right across from the beach.

A male staff member in the breakfast restaurant called me back in when I was leaving and said I needed to pay for my breakfast. Earlier when getting my coffee, I noticed him standing over my table and looking at the key I had left there from the cottage. I advised him that reception said breakfast was included and he told me this is not the case as my name was not on his list. I explained the issue with the booking and gave my name when he asked, so he could follow this up if he wishes. I understand that he may have been unaware of the booking mistake, but he handled the situation very unprofessionally compared to the reception staff.

Respect to the night porter 👌🏻

My recent overnight away with my girlfriend at the Ocean Sands Hotel started with a bit of a hitch, as check-in was delayed by over an hour with no updates provided. I had to proactively inquire about the situation myself, which was a little frustrating. However, once I spoke with Gary, the manager, things quickly turned around. He was very helpful and efficiently sorted everything out for me. I eventually got into my room, and it was lovely! The room was nice, and the balcony was a great size, offering a comfortable space to relax. We left the hotel and travelled across the coastline for the day. Later that evening, I headed to the bar for a few drinks with my partner. It was nice and quiet, which was perfect for unwinding. The highlight of the night, though, was meeting Evan Folliard, the night porter. He was an absolute gentleman and a fantastic worker. He was very friendly and very chatty and he managed to get all his work and cleaning done while entertaining me and my partner, I most of spent a good portion of the night into the early morning chatting to Evan Instead of heading back to the room and sleeping - he was an absolute savage laugh, and knows how to pour a proper pint of the black stuff 👌🏻Thanks to Gary for sorting everything out for us and thank you to Evan folliard for making the end of the day that much better, 2 assets to the company, fair play lads 👌🏻anyway... Overall, despite the initial delay, Gary and Evan's excellent service made for a memorable and enjoyable stay, until next time.. 💪🏻

Suited me down to the ground!

The room was huge. Absolutely spotless. Room heating was too high staff at reception sorted it out for me immediately. Night porter was really friendly and professional. Ideal location to get to the beach. Staff were excellent really accommodating. Would highly recommend for a visit.

Only issue outside area could do with a bin but other than that was perfect.
