A retreat to get away from it all in a beautiful location.
The cottage was so warm and inviting and immaculately clean, and it had everything we needed. The view from the property was very beautiful with the orchard and every day we had a pair of pheasants visiting. It really was a peaceful location and the surroundings were beautiful. The air source heat pump kept the property really toasty and the underfloor heating in the shower room was so comfortable. We were very impressed and we would stay again.
I realised when I rang the property to give our arrival time, that I hadn't left my phone number on their home phone, so when we arrived we didn't have the key safe number, so the owner was there with it. I didn't realise till after we had the key safe number that I hadn't left my phone number for the owners to reply with key safe. However, they could have messaged me through Booking.com. It was in a beautiful location, and it was perfect for us, but it was about an hour's drive to every place we visited, but it meant we saw lots of Devon, and visited Cornwall and Dorset.

Nice cottage, poor experience
Nice & simple cottage.
Host was extremely rude on arrival and wouldn’t let us in as we hadn’t followed his rules and called 3 days in advance to tell him our arrival time - upon searching for this rule, I noticed it at the bottom of an email amongst a series of emails received prior to arrival. He let us stand outside in the rain while we explained we had filled in the Booking.com check in time as requested by email & had received approval / confirmation. Only one toilet roll for four people and not enough logs to keep the fire going once lit.
