Great space for a large family or friends in Coniston

Loved the house which is very spacious and well maintained. The fireplace was a lovely addition.

There is no outside light by the garage so it makes navigating in the dark tricky, even parking up and unpacking. Also most of the rooms had bedside lights that didn't work.

We enjoyed our stay and don't mind normal wear and tear but the property could be cleaner.

Location and size. Very comfortable

The property could do with a good clean. Moths in curtains of downstairs bedrooms and ceilings. Furniture including fridge etc needed pulling out and cleaning. We couldn't use one of the toilets as continual water flow after flushing although someone did come round it wasn't fixed. Literature for the area could do with updating some of it was very old. None of this put us off apart from the cleanliness and we would stay there again if we thought the cleaning improved. No bags left for laundry ( sheets, towels) we used the pillow cases for this. We all hope this is taken as constructive criticism as the property was ideal for our purpose.

We had a great stay in spite of the problems noted above .

Location was great. Quiet and spacious.

The toilet in one bathroom needed the syphon changing . However most important problem was the induction hob didn’t work , even when following the instruction book. Unfortunately our treat breakfast of bacon and eggs was not possible ! Lastly the drive way is really tight fur two cars .

A great place for a group of friends to come together. Lots of place to hang out as a group.

Plenty of space.

Plenty of space—perfect for large groups. Each room was generously sized with super comfy beds. The kids had a blast in the game room with the pool table downstairs. Garden was lovely. We had an amazing stay!

6 forty something guys - 4 peaks in the Lakes, 6 Nations Rugby and a lot of drinks….

Great location, lots of space and ideal for what we needed. Good communication, fresh bedding, plenty of kitchen equipment and cutlery!

Some cleaning equipment other than a hoover would have been good.

It was ok that’s all I can say ( wedding and weather however were amazing )

The driveway is very tight and hard to get in and out the property sleeps 10 so we had 3 cars we could only park 2 Cleanliness ok but could of been better The decor dated and dark We where in Coniston for a wedding and visited other people accommodation and ours was definitely the least homely and the most tired

Ok stay ruined by rude staff.

Property is well located

Place was abit dusty which triggered some allergies for some of our group but overall was not too bad. Couldn’t explore the whole garden as it greenery was abit too overgrown and needs maintenance. What really soured our experience was the checkout. We checked out 20 minutes late (checkout was 10am, we were already packing our stuff in the car when the lady came) which we did apologize multiple for which was only met with multiple complaints and with a disrespectful attitude. Before leaving we stripped our beds and emptied all the bins and I did feel bad we checked out late as I know that was on us however we drove off the parking at exactly 10:30am in which the lady was still complaining for us simply still being on the parking premise. Just such a bad way to end our stay. I do understand that the property is also on tight deadlines to turn over the property but would suggest staff need to at least learn to treat guests with respect as a minimum. Would not recommend this place to stay.

Lovely comfortable house close to the lake

The house is clean and very comfortable. We had no issues with heating or hot water as some previous reviews have stated so presuming this has been fixed. Fantastic walks right from the front door

There was not quite enough cutlery for our group of 10 There is only parking for 2 cars and not much on street parking nearby Bring your own cafetière if you want coffee!

We had fantastic stay with amazing view of the mountains and clear sky in the night. We had minor issues with hot shower

The property is in good location with beautiful view. all rooms are in good size and comfortable. Nicely maintained garden in the back with amazing mountain view

Hot water in the shower was an issue. Central heating never came on , even though it displayed on the monitor as on. No separate recycle bins for the waste , so all the waste went in general waste bin. And there was no mob and bucket to clean the wet floor

Comfortable home sleeping a large family, great location.

Beds were comfy and clean, as were the toilets/bathrooms. Garden out the back had lovely views and a nice seating area to eat at. Nice quiet area and easy to find.

The hot water wasn’t working upon arrival and the instructions to set it up were not effective - it took a couple of hours to get it running and when we called the maintenance number left on site, they told us they hadn’t worked for that property for years. Whilst we managed to sort the hot water, the heating never worked. It’s a big house which got a little chilly and we had a few elderly members of the family that would have benefited from the heating being on for a couple of hours. Sykes staff couldn’t get hold of the owner all weekend so it’s a good job it wasn’t winter or we might have gone home! Despite multiple attempts by Sykes to get in touch with the owner to see if we could extend our day - it was available - they couldn’t which was a huge shame as we would have liked to have stayed an extra night. But we would come back!

Superb

Great location and decent size of the property. Very good place to stay with family. House is equipped with all necessary facilities. Lots of walking trails nearby. Other major tourist sites are also within good reach. I would definitely recommend and stay again in future if a visit is planned.

More of recommendations rather then complains: Extracter/exhaust fan in one of the washroom and the pump to maintain shower pressure are bit noisy. Shower drains need cleaning as the water takes time to drain. Little bit of smell in the laundry/kitchen area (can't identify the cause). Bunk beds in smaller bedroom downstair are not very sturdy. Carpets throughout esp lobby and living area/ lounge need cleaning.

Location was great and accommodation perfect for our numbers.

Lighting in the lounge area and "starter" pack for the fire was inadequate with 2 logs on arrival which meant we had to find somewhere that sold wood after we arrived. Also fairly frugal on toilet rolls for a weekend stay.
