The staff were so friendly and made us feel at home. Thank you Richard for your hospitality and the wonderful catering. The breakfast was delicious and the evening meal, including my vegetarian option, were of a very high standard and delicious.
The views were incredible over Esthwaite Water. We would definitely return.

Ees Wyke is the perfect country house for a rural Cumbrian break. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a beautiful room which overlooked the gardens and the lake. After settling in, we sat in a cosy lounge and enjoyed a pot of tea and a serving of cream and jam scones before heading out for a walk. After a very good night’s sleep, we awoke to the sound of rooks and pheasants and no traffic!! The breakfast was a feast, and I particularly enjoyed the porridge. Thank you Richard, Sharon, Angela and Alison for a lovely stay.

Lovely country house, friendly staff, comfortable room, outstanding breakfast beautifully presented, stayed an extra night and enjoyed an evening meal there. Ideal location for visiting Hilltop and enjoyed a circular walk cross country from the property to Hawkshead. We anticipate a return visit.

Stunning country house, with incredible views!
Staff were amazing and complimentary, coffee/tea and scones were at the ready for our arrival and sitting outside to eat them was beautiful. Breakfast had a variety of choices and all was wonderful. The room we stayed in was lovely and the bed was relaxing, I couldn’t thank the staff for a wonderfully beautiful stay! We can’t wait to return.
Nothing at all, facilities were great, our stay was beyond perfect for us.

Charming country residence full of character, elegance and lovely staff
There was nothing I disliked. If being picky, the bathroom (although spotlessly clean) could do with a bit of updating

Room was lovely and the view was stunning, the room was spotless, loved the little extras in the room too (sherry and a bowl with essentials such as cotton pads, tweezers etc) ! Staff were lovely and helpful and the food !! Wow the food was delicious !! Local pub literally five minutes walk up the road too was really nice. Just a really ideal location for staying local and doing lots of walks or very close to coniston and lots of other places to explore too!
Nothing it was lovely

Charming traditional country house in a stunning location. Perfect place for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Food was superb, both Breakfast in the morning and the 2 evening meals we chose to have during our stay.
Richard and the team were very welcoming and friendly, with great attention to detail. Will definitely be going back for another visit.
Nothing to complain about, not even the weather.

Ees Wyke is a gem in every way; from Richard our host and his staff, to our lovely room, to the delicious breakfast and an amazing, world class dinner, to spectacular scenery, plus it is a very short walk to Hill Top: Beatrix Potter’s home, which is what brought me to the Lake District from America in the first place. I couldn’t have been more pleased!

The room was great, with lovely views of the the lake and surrounding hills. The bed was very comfortable, the shower good, and the food very good. The hotel is in a beautiful location and ideally placed for exploring the southern half of the Lake District.
It is expensive for a Guest House with limited hours for serving breakfast and dinner, and no room service.

Where do I start? The ladies are wonderful and there for every need. Behind the scenes is the owner Mr Richard Lee, chef extraordinaire. Each night he conjured up some lovely food. The lounge is great with the real fire and an opportunity to chat to other guests, we made some friends this weekend. The room was great with amazing views. Highly recommended.
There is literally nothing not to like about Ees Wyke!

We booked this hotel as it was close to where my hubby proposed and it was our 14th wedding anniversary.
The views were truly spectacular. Just breathtaking.
The rooms were lovely, clean and well decorated.
Quite spacious with tea making facilities.
En suite bathroom with shower. Again lovely and clean.
Angela was extremely helpful and moved us to a different room on request as I wanted a lake view room but hadn't ordered one in the original booking.
The dinner in the evening was excellent and the waiting staff couldn't have been more helpful.
The breakfast was sublime. Beautifully cooked and presented. Orange juice was freshly squeezed and the breakfast buffet was one of the best one ever had.
I am definitely booking again.
There was nothing I didn't like.
I don't know if there was a lift, so not sure if it would be suitable for non mobile wheelchair users. That is the only thing I can think of.

I can’t fault the hotel. It is not a chain, which is refreshing. Superb breakfast and friendly people. Right in the village but feels like a country house.
