Home from home

The flat was really homely and cozy. It had everything needed for an easy stay in a very convenient location for the town, station & coast path. The view across the harbour was lovely, and the decor (arty and lived-in, but really comfortable) and garden added to a very pleasant few days away. The milk, scones and jam were a nice touch, as was leaving lamps on for my arrival after dark. Thank you for letting out this lovely space!

Good location.

Location was good.

Instructions about location of property were obscure. Mountview is located at the Abbey. Entry is via back door from the property carpark which is located in New Street not Abbey street. None of this information was provided. Also I didn’t have ability to phone despite trying all the latest apps etc. I explained this so many times to the owners via email. I was ignored and told to phone the caretaker. Very poor service in my opinion.

Perfect location to wander Penzance with stunning views across the harbour.

Amazing location, stunning views and spacious, comfortable cosy cottage atmosphere. Finding cream tea supplies on arrival was a lovely surprise. Having an allocated parking space in a private courtyard was a huge bonus! Was very clean - carpets/flooring look new.

Perfect location for town, ocean promenade and all sorts of excursions. Lovely well furnished apartment, good kitchen (full cream tea prepared upon arrival) modern bathroom, shared laundry room. Quiet sunny Roms. Beautiful garden, nice views across the harbour, on site parking

Gorgeous rooms with lovely colours and furnishings. At one end of the sitting-room, you could have sunny breakfast looking out through a picture window on to sea and the town, then, later, at the other end, snuggle down on the deep sofa to watch old films. Bliss!

Loved it.

Great location for shopping and eating out with great views from most windows. It has a very well equipped kitchen and welcoming cream tea and even a bar of soap in the bathroom.

A laid back and cozy beach vacation!

The location and space was great. Community kitchen items were nice to have on hand for preparing meals. Garden was an oasis and the beds were very comfortable!!!

It really needs a very good deep clean. The carpets, the cabinets, the bathrooms, and windows all need cleaning.

Nice little get away

The property was indeed home away from home. The location was perfect, made it easy to leave the car and enjoy Cornwall via public transport.

I thought the checkout time was a little early. Should consider bringing checkout time in line with standard, 11am.

Great location, traditional and quirky, but needs some serious work on the bathroom.

location on Penzance harbour was great. off-road parking too was good. very traditional appt, but nice and cosy. There were lots of books, puzzles, Sky tv etc. kitchen was good. Lovely views of the harbour.

We genuinely enjoyed our stay but the bathroom needs serious updating. It is awful, it’s not cleaned properly, around the base of the toilet was awful. The shower head was covered in mould and limescale. The wallpaper is bubbling. It’s like something out of the Bates Motel. it really lets the appt. down. Plus all the shelves, lamps and high points are covered in dust. Simple things like that really spoil what is a lovely place.

Superb

The flat is the home of a family who have lived there for 40 years. So it feels like going into a home, with lots of books, DVDs, and comforts. It is well located with a splendid view over the port.

A washing machine would have been useful.

A very comfortable apartment, fantastic location, very food facilities.

I read a previous review that the apartment was a home from home, and it certainly is that - it's a large, very comfortable apartment with an odd layout ( a few internal steps and a bathroom accessed from the kitchen). There is off-street parking in a courtyard at the back of the property, next to which is a lovely, peaceful, walled garden. A lovely place to sit out. The apartment had a great view of a small tidal bay and a bridge, in the harbour - it was used constantly by swimmers and paddle boards. There was always something going on at high tide. Great location, very close to shops and excellent pubs and restaurants. It's also quite close to the bus and rail stations.

The main access to the apartment is up a quite steep slipway, next to the harbour, which is 2-way and narrow. Otherwise it's a tricky one-way system.

The landlord is very considerate and prepared scones and milk. Room location is good, however the house is not new and the facilities are relatively old. But overall, still very comfortable.

Wonderful apartment with fab sea views

The sea views, always interesting with the Scillonian in and out. And the small working dock with tidal ship movements and wild swimmers. Very pretty, comfortable and cosy place. Well located with restaurants and shops close at hand.

A personal issue meant taking care on the outside steps. Inside the apartment additional steps from the back door to the kitchen, to the bathroom and down from the kitchen to the small hallway were trying. If your knees are an issue bear in mind these six steps could be an issue.

A perfect stay

The owners have meticulously thought of everything to ensure a perfect stay. Comfortable furniture, lovely decor and objects, it feels like a home rather than a rental. It was warm, everything worked and we thoroughly enjoyed our week there. When the WiFi failed the owner sorted it as soon as possible which wasn't easy. We have been renting and holidaying for more than 40 years and this is in our top 5.

The only niggle was that the information about rubbish collection did not mention separating recycling, which we were sad about. We have stayed in places where rentals are treated as commercial waste and everything goes in together which is what we assumed with the two black sacks and no clarification. Notes could be updated to reflect this and other changes.
