Stroll along the nature trail by the babbling brook, soak in the mountain views and enjoy the amenities found in the Village of Cheshire. A few minutes away is the charming town of Black Mountain, with its quaint shops, music scene, art galleries, hiking trails, pubs and numerous dining choices. Experience the exciting Asheville scene, the Biltmore Estate, numerous craft breweries and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Your dream vacation awaits you!

The Babbling Brook Bungalow was completed in August, 2017, and is adjacent to our new home and located above our garage. You will have your own entrance and parking space. The large space offers you a new queen bed with luxury bedding and a dresser, a twin sleeper couch in the sitting area and a fully equipped kitchen with a dining table. A Keurig coffee maker and selection of teas, coffees and sparking water are provided for your convenience.

The bungalow is located in the Village of Cheshire. Guests can walk to the Cheshire Fitness Club for a workout or a swim and reserve a court at the Cheshire Racquet Club for a game of tennis. Across the road and just a short , but pretty walk, is the Cheshire Village Center with fine restaurants, a wine and coffee shop and a gourmet market.

Doug and Jean are delightful hosts who have thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome to their beautiful carriage house/ studio. Walking distance to several dining spots for breakfast, lunch and dinner, or make your own meals in the well supplied kitchenette. Optional YMCA just steps away. Downtown Blacksburg just down the road. Outstanding and relaxing getaway!

Our hosts were outstanding and great communicators (before and during our stay). We had no difficulty finding and entering our VRBO. It was nicely furnished and very clean. The bathroom was spotless with fluffy thick white towels. We were welcomed with a binder providing a great deal of information about the bungalow, town, restaurants, etc. Plus our hosts provided a goody basket of snacks and candy. The kitchen had many staples plus popcorn. We were able to go on some great hikes nearby in Montreat and Catawba Falls in Old Fort. Plus, it is a short drive to Ashville. We really loved the town of Black Mountain and its stores and restaurant. We highly recommend staying in this great bungalow.

Everything about this property was very high quality. It's in a great location, very convenient to downtown Black Mountain, shopping and restaurants. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We arrived to find Jean's delicious homemade cookies, for us and our dog, and a welcome letter! The bungalow was well stocked with eveything we needed. There was also a wide assortment of snacks and beverages. The check-in and check-out process was easy. I would give it more than five stars if allowed. We will be repeat guests! We highly recommend Babbling Brook Bungalow!

Jean and Doug were great hosts! The property was beautiful. We walked along the creek multiple times a day, and discovered new things each time. There was some constructions being done, but otherwise this was a quiet little community.

My husband and I have vacationed at this beautiful cottage on two other occasions. It has been a delightful experience each time. The hosts are accommodating, the property comfortable, easy access to Black Mountain and Asheville is close by as well. The area is in welcoming guests once again post-Hurricane Helene

Very nice studio apartment with high end furnishings. Everything has been thought about and host leaves lovely snacks and drinks in the fridge for your stay. The hardest part was my husband and I fighting over the fifth cookie (thank you they were lovely!)… easy communication, enjoyed our stay, thank you!

Peaceful, clean, perfectly positioned with more goodies than you can imagine. My son's favorite: the amazing oatmeal cookies. The pull out bed was comfortable for his 6 foot frame and I slept like a baby in the queen bed. The shower was hot and had a great shower head, all the linens were clean and comfy. Jean and Doug were easy to contact and so hospitable . We will be back!

Great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Asheville. Clean and quiet. Loved the babbling brook right there. Jean and Doug have made every effort to make the stay enjoyable from the cookies she left, the snacks and drinks. There is also lots of information on the things to do in the area. My visit was to see the Chihuly exhibit at Biltmore. I could definitely see coming back for other things in the area. I will say that if you stay early in week a lot of the local restaurants are closed. Would definitely stay here again.

This was our first time to the Black Mountain area and this bungalow was perfect for me and my husband. It was a great location in a quaint area and you can hear the running brook outside your window. Doug and Jean are very friendly and welcoming. They provided everything we needed and even have a fridge with some water and other beverages, a basket full of coffee/tea and condiments, a basket full of various snacks and a welcome plate of homemade oatmeal chocolate chips cookies. The parking spot available is small so if you have a large vehicle there is parking a door or two down from the bungalow. Overall, we would stay here again.

We couldn't have been happier with this darling bungalow! SO welcoming to us and our pup! Super clean and neat as a pin. Jean and Doug have thought of every thing you could possibly need or want. Not only did we REALLY love our stay...we feel like we made new friends. We'll be back, for sure! The creek is dreamy and there's a fenced dog area for a little romp very close by. You won't be disappointed :-)

Our hosts were always happy to say hello when we saw them around the property. The kitchenette had everything we needed and was well stocked with snacks. There were even dog treats and extra doggie bags when we arrived. Do note that the bungalow is above a garage and there is some occasional rumbling from the door, but it was not an issue for us.

Met Jean and Doug when I was first arriving. They were so friendly and guided me to various restaurants and coffee shops to experience in town and Ashville. We had fresh baked cookies along with a well stocked frig of local beers and beverages to try. They even had a little treat bag for our Samoyed. The cottage is cozy and bed is really comfortable. The neighborhood has beautiful walking trails and a dog park/ fire pit if you wanted to hangout. Absolutely will be staying here again. Close to downtown Black Mountain and a short drive to Ashville. If you’re a big mountain biker some of the best trails are less than 20 min away.

We loved our stay at this property. The owners do go above and beyond with amenities (snacks, drinks, toiletries, homemade cookies!!) which really makes a difference. Really clean and comfortable. Of note- owners do live right next door and the place is above their garage so not the most private if that is a priority.
