About this house rental
Our recently built Mountain cottage is located within very close walkin distance to nearby Lake Tomahawk, downtown Black Mountain, Montreat and within a 15 minute drive of the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville.
There are two bedrooms. One with a King bed, one with a double bed and a pull out couch with memory foam mattress in the living space. Parking for the house is to the left of the house with side steps to the porch. Two cars can fit in this spot
Neighborhood overview:
We are a quick walk to Lake Tomahawk in a quiet residential area with nice neighbors. Downtown Black Mountain is just a short drive with many restaurants and shops. Short distance from Montreat and great mountain hikes or take a 10-15 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is so much to do and see, you will love it!
Getting around
Enjoy the slow pace of Black Mountain! There is plenty of free street parking downtown where you can enjoy great food and shops!

We were very happy with this cute little house. Lovely well stocked kitchen. The beds were very comfortable, nice sheets & pillows. Very quiet neighborhood & really close to downtown Black Mountain. We'd definitely stay here again! Our only issue was walking down the gravel & timber path to the house. We're in our sixties and it was a bit tricky without a handrail. Other than that, we loved it.

Overall this was a comfortable cottage. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, and linens and paper goods were well stocked. The host was responsive to a few issues we had. The neighborhood was quiet. The one issue we had that was not obvious from the listing was that there was no way into the cottage without multiple stairs and the parking area required navigating a steep bank or steep stairs with a handrail. It is not a place I would recommend for people in their 70’s like we are.

The house was perfect for me with close access to town. The kitchen had all the amenities I needed and everything was nicely arranged.

The cottage was clean, great location, great furnishings, well stocked; everything that would be needed for a short or long stay. Unfortunately, soon after we checked in my wife started having breathing difficulties (we chose this cottage because of its location and no pets policy). We opened the windows and decided to walk to downtown Black Mountain; she cleared up soon after we started our walk. When we arrived back later in the evening she again started having difficulty breathing (she did take two different allergy medications but they did no good). After a difficult night for her I contacted the owners the next morning and informed them we would be checking out and would not stay the last 2 nights of our 3 night stay. The owners did offer the cottage next door as it did not have carpet, but it would not be available until 3 pm. Given my wife's condition, and not knowing what was causing her breathing issues (something in carpet, cleaning products, other cause) we informed the owner that it would be best if we returned home.
