About this cottage rental

Situated in the heart of the ancient village of Croscombe Millview is just 100m from the village pub; no drink driving here.

The entrance hall to Millview with its beautiful old flagstones worn to a polish by generations of boots and shoes has a stone archway leading into the earlier section of the house dating from the very earliest years of the 17th century. Here, the stairs lead up to the first floor.
Sitting Room

The sitting room beyond has a welcoming log burning stove set into a huge inglenook fireplace. This fireplace houses a seven foot deep bread oven although now the door has been replaced by a beautiful stained glass window made by the owner showing the nearby Glastonbury Tor. Again, the floor is of ancient flagstones but here for comfort covered in part by a carpet. The sitting room is complete with digital LCD TV with DVD Player and comfortable seating for up to 6 people.

Dining Room
The adjacent dining room has a large table, easily seating 6 people. In this room there is an original glass fronted cupboard built into the wall, and a fireplace with a dressed stone surround. Under the window is a wooden chest with an assortment of board games.

Kitchen
The galley style kitchen is beautifully fitted with a full range of appliances, and is fully equipped to provide for up to 6 people. Leading from the kitchen is a small utility area with a washing machine, fridge freezer and a microwave.
Upstairs
There are two bedrooms on the first floor, one with a double bed and the other with a double and a single bed, both bedrooms have polished wood floors with rugs. The larger of these two bedrooms has an ornate cast iron fireplace set into the corner of the wall.
PLEASE NOTE We do not live locally so are unable to provide bed linen or towels,
duvets and pillows are of course supplied.

Bedroom 1 Bedroom 2

The bathroom is also on the first floor, and has a free standing roll top bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

Although the ceilings are high the doorways are not, you have been warned!

Garden
The pretty garden at the rear of the house is tranquil with only the chatter of jackdaws that congregate around the nearby church to intrude on the peace. The garden is mostly laid to lawn with flower beds and mature shrubs.

There is a gas powered BBQ and loungers provided together with a table, umbrella and chairs for al fresco dining.

Beautiful cottage with everything we needed. Beds were comfy, felt really homely and made our stay really relaxing. Really lovely area with lots to do, we only had a few days but would like to go back and explore more. The garden is an added bonus and our daughter enjoyed the space. Just wish we had had longer. Listing was really accurate and it was as good as it looked if not better.

Beautiful cottage set in Somerset countryside. The rooms were larger than expected making our stay even more comfortable. It is only a 10 minute drive to Wookey Hole which is a great family day out. Cheddar Gore and Bath are also nearby. I would recommend the cottage to others and the host was very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely village. The cottage was cosy, interesting and just a nice place to relax. The cottage has everything you need to get comfy, including well a provisioned kitchen. WiFi is excellent and smart tv also.Access to property was easy and there are places to park your car nearby. The host Peter was available on email and very accommodating to us, as we requested an additional night stay. You won’t be disappointed with your stay, unfortunately due to the kids, the very welcoming looking pub nearby wasn’t an option for us but maybe next time. Thanks again PeterMatt and Hanna

We enjoyed our stay at Millview. Excellent location although the road was busy but once inside the cottage it was fairly quiet.

We (two adults two kids aged 13 and 19y) have very much loved to stay at this pleasant place - an exceptional house and beautiful starting point for day trips to Bath, Glastonbury and Wells of course. The local pub is also very much to be recommended. The house itself is marvellous of course. We also enjoyed TV, collection of games and the small but complete kitchen. Very kind and responsive hosts also. If you're going to go there, start looking forward!

Great location near to Glastonbury and in the countryside. Road can be busy during week but was quiet on weekend. Fantastic garden. Lovely place to get together with friends.

We loved our stay. It’s surprisingly roomy and although the kitchen is compact, it’s laid out well and it’s got everything you need. Comfortable beds. It’s full of character and quite quirky but very homely. The fabulous George pub is a minutes walk away. Recommend the steak and ale pie!

Location was a good central location for sightseeing/major attractions. Owner excuse for not providing bedding is NO excuse for not doing so. Having to take such and make up and strip beds is not something relished when on vacation. Bed mattress's ok but would benefit from Lux hotel quality upgrade. Property is well maintained and has nice artifacts. Kitchen is well equipped from a vacation standpoint. Taking own bathroom supplies, i.e. everything, is a downer.
