A perfect, peaceful escape in Provence

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful property in Provence, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The location is absolutely unbeatable—just a 6-minute walk into the charming town of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, making it easy to explore local art galleries, shops, and cafes whenever we wanted. What truly set this property apart, though, was the garden terrace with its stunning panoramic views overlooking the town. It felt like we were in our own little world, far removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The peacefulness of the space really slowed us down, which was exactly what we needed coming from a place where we’re always on the go. The private pool was an added bonus—situated on a higher level of the property, it was incredibly quiet and provided the perfect spot for relaxing under the sun or watching the sunset. It felt like our own personal oasis. Lastly, I can’t forget to mention the owners, who were so kind and accommodating. They really made us feel at home, offering great recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We absolutely fell in love with this property and would recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic, peaceful retreat in Provence!

Overall, we had such an amazing stay that it's hard to find much to fault. If we had to point out one small thing, it would be the air conditioning in the bedroom. It wasn’t as strong as we’d hoped, especially since the summer heat can get pretty intense. That said, it wasn’t a big issue at all—we simply opened the windows a bit and enjoyed the breeze, which worked perfectly fine.

A wonderful relaxing time, within easy walking distance of the jewel that is St Paul de Vence

Location was fabulous, with picture-perfect views of St Pauls de Vence which is a wonderful rustic village crammed full of artists of all genres. The tourist centre in the village gave us the local bus timetable, and between that and Google Maps were able to get to and from Nice / the airport using public transport for less than 15 Euros each. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and a great place to rest in. The little kitchen and inside dining area were sufficient for our needs, and the pool was a good size and not overlooked.

I hadn't realised the access between the bedroom and kitchen/diner was via outside steps only. It wasn't actually a problem as we didn't need to transfer when it was raining and didn't mind getting dressed before breakfast, but it was not quite what we were expecting. Similarly, I hadn't quite realised that the pool is accessed via the family garden - again, not a problem in practice, but not quite as separate as I was expecting.

Lovely historical house in an amazing location.

Very neat rustic old house. Wonderful outdoor areas with amazing views. Short walk the the center of St Paul De Vence. Great views from the bedroom upstairs, which you have to go outside to get to. Lovely hosts and for back to me right away with any questions. Had everything we needed.

We enjoyed our stay at La Petite Maison very much, and would be happy to stay there again.

La Petite Maison is on a hillside above St Paul with a fine view of the village, the valleys and the sea in the distance. There is a large garage that keeps a hire car very secure, and the door is easy to operate. St Paul is a short walk downhill, about 10 minutes. It takes longer coming back, but it was good exercise. The gardens are large and beautiful with plants and flowers. The garden furniture is great for sitting out there and dining or just lounging. The rooms are comfortable, and the kitchen adequately equipped.

Perfect honeymoon spot

Peaceful and private with stunning views over St Paul de Vence. We were given private use of the pool which was beautiful and quiet. The garden and the terrace were beautiful- the perfect place to sit in the evening with a glass of wine. The bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable. The kitchenette was well equipped and we didn't need for anything during our stay.

Be warned- we rented a fiat 500 for our trip- I wouldn't recommend trying to drive up the street (steep hill, narrow) in anything much bigger! WiFi a bit weak/slow but 4G signal good.

You will not find many better settings in the Riviera. Very comfortable room and shower! Patrick was the perfect host!

It was fine for me but if driving the road up to the property it is very narrow and tight, rent a small car(tbh helpful in most of this region) or bring an already battered car! it did not change my love for this place.

The apartment was superbly situated. The parking perfect. Although the route up to the car car parking area was quite hairy as it is a single track one way road. The owners met us on the road and guided us in. That was helpful and welcoming . The apartment was warm and clean and dry. We arrived in rain and there were umbrellas for us to use. Access to the garden was fantastic and there are two entrances to that you can leave by foot or by car.
