Friendly helpful staff. Very comfortable bed and fans in every room most welcome in the heatwave when we stayed.
Be aware if you have limited mobility: parking is in the public car parks a minutes walk away. Also as to be expected in a building 400 yeas old the stairs are steep. Note breakfast is help yourself continental and cereals. But Alfriston has many coffee shops and cafes within walking distance if you want a cooked breakfast.

I was told to pay an extra £50 deposit (??) and I still haven't fathomed out if it has been repaid. Dinner was good. Breakfast was hopeless.
